Pet care experience
Hello! Welcome to our home! We look forward to sitting your dog! We used to board our dog until until he caught an infection. We found this service and decided to also open up our doors to others who may not want the rigid structure of a kennel or boarding facility. Our home is a large one bedroom apartment attached to a backyard. We also have a neutered Staffordshire Bull Terrier of our own who is well socialized and loves to play and make friends. We have made many investments to ensure your dog has a comfortable stay with us; from toys, seatbelts, a playpen, and comfortable beds we want you to relax with the knowledge that your pooch is being cared for as if they are our own. We make regular visits to the local dog parks and green spaces in the neighborhood to ensure proper exercise. We currently own a jeep and are close to all public transportation. If necessary, we are 1 mile away from an excellent veterinarian. Your dog will receive lots of love and attention. We will send you plenty of pics or video of your dogs stay with us. We have no problem caring for pups with special needs as long as specific directions are left. About this sitter: I am a corporate professional who loves all animals but developed a passion for dogs at a young age. I spend most of my spare time having lots of fun with my Staffordshire Bull terrier. He is my pride and joy. We do everything from hiking, to camping to going to the beach and tons of dog parks. We would like your dog to join our fun! I have cared for the pets of family, friends, and co-workers. All will attest that I provide their pets with the utmost attention. Why I love dog sitting I have always loved dogs. I grew up with a German Shepard/Collie mix as a child, so having another furry family member now seems so natural to me. I understand dogs and have a good rapport with them. Meet my pets We live in a one bedroom on the first floor of a brownstone. The apartment has exclusive back yard access. About my yard I have a private fenced in back yard. With about 400 sq. feet of space. The fences surrounding the yard are 5 feet tall. My experience administering medication Yes, I am comfortable administering oral medications only.

I am so very happy that I found Kalon! I had been looking for a new dog sitter in my area for quite some time and had a LOT of bad experiences. Kalon was so flexible and accommodating. He watched willy for 3 weeks and I never worried about him for a minute. He gave me regular updates (without me even asking), walked him everyday (multiple times), and even put a treat on his pillow at the end of the day! Oh and did I mention that we didn't bring a bed for Willy so they bought him one???? Kalon's dog Brixton is so sweet and gentle, I'm always weary of other dogs but as soon as I met him I wasn't worried at all! I HIGHLY recommend Kalon. I feel lucky that I can now call him our dog sitter!
Kalon is an awesome dog owner, who takes awesome care of his terrier. He's a competent and compassionate handler who does well will all breeds. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a safe environment for their dog.

We have no preferences for breed or age, but because we have a dog in our household the temperament of your dog is extremely important to us. Our dog is very friendly and playful, older dogs may find this an annoyance. We will absolutely NOT sit any aggressive dogs of any age size or breed. Also, it's important to mention that we do work outside of the home full time during the day, Dogs that suffer from separation anxiety may not do well in our home. Your dog should be house and/or crate trained (there are some limited exceptions). Does your pup love to exercise? Even better! We walk our dog a minimum of 3x day and your pup will be welcome to join us on these walks and play sessions. The more active the dog, the better. We will adjust accordingly for less active/senior pups. We always suggest a meet and greet prior to the stay to assess the compatability of our pups.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Our neighborhood is very dog friendly. There are plenty of green space areas, including a local park. We will also take your pup to the dog park where he/she will be observed constantly. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Depending on their size, your dog will either sleep in his own crate, with a soft pillow and his favorite toy. If your dog is too large for the crate, we will allow him to sleep in a play pen with a soft bed. He will also get a cookie every night before going to sleep. Time I'll spend with your dog I will spend a great deal of time giving your dog the attention it needs and deserves. We will run, play games, and play with my dog to ensure they have exhausted themselves. In the morning I like to start with a run, this will tire the dogs out and allow them to sleep while I am at work , when I return, we will either enjoy greenspace, play in the home, or go to the dog park to ensure their energy is spent once again.
