Educated + experienced animal care!

Pet care experience

My love and experience with animals started from the time I was a kid, always bringing in and caring for strays. My first dog was a Jack Russell named Gypsy that I received from Santa in the 4th grade, and she just recently passed this year. Prior to that, we had the best life together that involved many moves and even college. I graduated from Clemson University with my degree in Animal and Veterinary Science in 2014. I couldn't have gotten through my Bachelor's without her! During my time at Clemson, I was heavily involved with cattle and horses, as well as sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. I then went on to work for the SPCA of Texas as an adoptions specialist, which involved caring for and working with cats, dogs, and rabbits primarily (with the occasional pot belly). I left that job to start my family and decided I wanted to be able to still incorporate my passion for animals while doing so. All of this is in addition to caring for and training personal pets and those of friends and family. I have experience in basic to intermediate obedience, scent/olfactory work, teaching service dog related tasks, public access training, etc.

I cannot say enough nice things about Kaitlynn and her family. She let me come by for a meet and greet, just to make my pup feel more at ease. She also didn't mind at all to take on the finicky diet he is on. I would definitely recommended Kaitlynn to take care of your animals. She updates you and makes you feel at ease throughout your pets stay. Thank you Kaitlynn!

Kaitlynn was amazing! She is so friendly and personable. She went above and beyond in communication from our first contact. I loved the updates we received while away and I could tell my pup Millie was having a blast. I highly recommend Kaitlynn! She even came in clutch after our plane was delayed and was able to keep Millie an extra night. I cannot say enough good things. Thanks for treating my dog like your own. :)

I currently have two small kids in the home, but we have an entire level that the kids don't have access to in case your pets prefer peace and quiet. If your pets like being involved in the hustle and bustle, they are more than welcome to hang out with us though! We also have a neutered Heeler named Gus and a neutered cat named Rooster. Again, if your pets don't like other pets we have a solution for that! Our home features an upstairs, a main level, and a downstairs basement with access to a little over 3/4 acre backyard. We live in a cul-de-sac on a street in the back of our subdivision, so we have plenty of places to head for a stroll throughout the day. If desired, we have room in our vehicle to transport to other activities or places, like the park. If the weather doesn't accommodate multiple or lengthy walks, we will incorporate additional mental stimulation through the use of puzzles and games inside. We would love the opportunity to utilize our experience to care for your pets- large or small, old or young, hyper or calm, etc. An additional note, my husband is currently a K9 Officer for the county, so we also have his police K9 Rocky when he isn't on shift, but he is kept separately in his dog run.

Availability

I currently work part time from home, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pet's wants and needs. I am up routinely by 7am everyday and often awake through 12am/midnight, which allows for ample time after the kids goto bed to give your pet even more one on one time, which we can use for practicing obedience or other misc. activities (or just cuddles!) I am open to short term, long term, or routine stays with advance arrangements. I may be able to accommodate last minute arrangements as needed, please inquire to see what I can do for you and your pets!
