Every dog deserves love and care

Pet care experience

In 2016, I was given the opportunity to take care of my neighbor's Rottweilers while he was away. This experience sparked my interest in dog-watching and I decided to pursue it as my primary work. Over the years, I have gained a wealth of experience working at pet stores and boarding facilities, while continuing to provide the best care for pets I watch, extending my services to cats and fish as well. I have worked closely with dog trainers to improve my skills as a dog owner, learning about body language and standard training techniques to better communicate with dogs. My devotion to the well-being of pets led me to learn about nutrition, safety, basic first aid, and exercises to better stimulate their minds and bodies. I am always eager to learn and share my knowledge with others. Having worked with dogs of all breeds and sizes, I treasure each unique interaction. Also, I love working with cats!

Kaitlyn was wonderful!! She arrived on time and sent photo and text updates while she was here. My pups looked so happy and tired after their check in, I could tell they loved Kaitlyn!! I look forward to booking Kaitlyn again!

Kaitlyn is amazing! She’s flexible and works with me around date and times. She’s very communicative and does a fantastic job reporting about the day. My dogs absolutely love her and always seem to have a blast when she comes. She’s a life saver!!

Safety, trust & environment

I like to bring a water bottle to have them sip on if they're thirsty during the walk. Poop bags are also a must just to keep the area clean for the next walk and others in the area. Choosing the best area for a walk that is safe will always be my priority for your dog and myself. Since every dog's walking habits are different, I make sure to talk with you about how leash-trained they are and if they have a tendency to pull or try to get out of the collar/harness. That being said, I like to double-check the collar/harness and leash before we head out for the walk. I like to be cautious on walks below 45 degrees and over 80 degrees due to the risks of overexposure to cold or heat exhaustion. I'll make sure to communicate any concerns I have if the weather permits it. When it comes to a drop-in visit I like to get to know the dog a little more since it mostly depends on the animal and how well they take to strangers coming into their environment. Everything else involves conforming to their routine and what is already expected in their everyday life. I'll make sure to talk through everything with you to make sure nothing is missed to ensure a safe visit for me and your pet.

Information Kaitlyn P. would like to know about your pet

Behavioral habits would be especially nice to know; for example: do they get along with others, are they a digger or chewer, are sharing toys or possessiveness over food and treats an issue, and have they been house trained? Also, what are their favorite toys and treats? Are they more of a “let’s take a slow walk” kind of dog or do they like to just start full-on running? Whatever path they follow, I’ll try my best to make sure they're always having fun while you’re away.

A typical day

During my dog walks I like to bring a water bottle and some poop bags. I always like to check the pavement with my hand to make sure on really hot days the paw pads aren't going to get hurt. Sniffing everything and anything is going to be their main priority so I'll be looking for a nice walking area that has plenty of greenery to enjoy while still keeping safe. Rainy walks don't bother me if they don't bother them so I'm happy to bring my umbrella and take a stroll through the puddles. Wet dog smell may be included so I'll make sure to have that towel ready after we're done. If dog walks aren't on the agenda today then during our first drop-in visit I'll greet your lovely companion with soft words, a gentle smile, and maybe a treat if that is something you're ok with. Once we get to know each other then I'm sure the soft baby voice will bring happy butt wags every time! I'll take them potty outside whether it's in your yard or on a leash outside, giving them some time to stretch their legs and smell some fresh air. Afterwards, (depending on the weather and what kind of dog you have) we'll hang outside and play with some toys. We can even spend time inside just cuddling on the couch if that's more fitting for your little companion, (that includes cats too). Water breaks, complimentary scratches, and a quick pic to send to mom or dad will be our daily thing and if you want meal time added I'll make sure they get fed at a time comfortable for you both. Whether you like your dog kenneled or roaming the house, I will always do a last-minute potty break if I feed your dog just to make sure you don't come home to an accident. I'd like to think of my visits as if I was never there and you were never gone so that your furry companion will have a fun day like any other.
