Pet care experience
Dogs have always been a strong thread in my life. I was fortunate enough to make dog care my profession for over 3 years working as a dog handler in Alaska and as a dog trainer in Ridgway, CO. I have experience working with extremely high energy, long distance racing huskies as well as many different types of dogs with problem behaviors. Now that I am in Durango and not working in the dog world, I need my dog fix! I have a rescued Rez dog named Bindi who is my adventure partner and loves to play with other dogs. You can have peace of mind knowing that your pup is in qualified hands while your away! I have helped raise puppies as well as care for senior dogs as old as 16! I know how to handle the wierdos and the wild banshees as well as the shy guys. I have vet tech experience and can administer intravenous or intranasal medications.

Kaitlyn is an amazing human and pet lover. She has worked two seasons in Alaska taking care of sled dogs, worked at Second Chance Human Society in Ridgway for a year and has cared for her own dog for 7 years. I trust Kaitlyn with my pup Bluebell fully, she listens to special requests, gives the pups a ton of exercise and love and snuggles.
Kaitlyn has a natural sense with all dogs. She has spent 2 years living on a glacier taking care of dog-sled huskies, caring for them day in and day out. She then worked at an dog and cat rescue center in Ridgeway making sure rescue dogs felt safe and had the necessities to live a wonderful life. She is responsible, active and will show any dogs a great time!
The words "dog person" don't do justice to my dear friend Kaitlyn. She is a joyful spirit, always ready for an outdoor adventure, and I know that any dog would not only be safe but very happy under her care. She has spent the last three years working with dogs in many capacities: as a dog-handler with a guide company, as a dog walker and trainer at a her local animal shelter and with her own dog that she adopted last summer. Kaitlyn is reliable, responsible and will care for your pet as if it were her own; therefore, I give her my wholehearted recommendation as your dog sitter.
Kaitlyn is an awesome person and knows her dogs. She's worked in several dog related jobs, including dog training. She is very caring of all dogs and incredibly responsible when she is the guardian of a pup, even if it's just for a walk. She's the first person I think of when it comes to dog sitting.

Before caring for a dog, i would like to know their temperament, socialization level with humans and other dogs, obedience level and just about anything the owner wants to tell me about their four legged friend!
A typical day
-Because i work at night, my days are freed up so I can give your pup as much attention as possible. -As far as being active, I live in Durango so walks can easily turn into hikes/trail runs or full on adventure days as permitted by the owners! After a long day, I am always down to curl up and relax so no worries if your dog is a bit of a couch potato.
