My employment at the San Diego Humane Society in various departments has given me extraordinary experience in dealing with domestic animals large and small. I have been pet sitting for family, friends, and neighbors for over 10 year and professionally sitting for over 4. I have met many unfamiliar dogs and cats and have the knowledge to care for them without causing more stress; I can also watch after dogs and cats that may have some minor or moderate medical issues. I work full time caring for and walking as many as 30 dogs of all sizes and breeds in one day and I am also currently in school pursuing a veterinarian degree. Special needs that I can handle: Senior animals Giving a medication in pill form to both dogs and cats Giving a medication injection or subcutaneous fluids Diabetic animals A dog that needs a wheelchair to move around I can express a bladder if the dog is comfortable with it Dogs that pull hard on walks, or require walks with a harness Cats with FLUTD or similar conditions that require more attention Brushing both dogs and cats Under-socialized dogs and cats and semi-feral cats Any animal on a strict diet Puppies and kittens I am comfortable with horses, reptiles, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rats I am willing to look after other animals such as goats, pigs, or chickens with detailed care instructions.
