Experienced, Medical Dog-Owner

Pet care experience

My name is Kaitlyn, or Kait for short. I am a former 5th-grade teacher turned EdTech who adores animals so much. I have been loving animals since I was 10 years old with our family pets growing up and my own into my early adulthood. In March 2023, my husband and I lost our beloved three-year-old Winston due to his Chronic Kidney Disease. Within our short years of loving our sweet Golden Doodle boy, we became very experienced with giving IVs multiple times a day, providing different prescribed medications for him, following his vet-ordered care schedule, and his prescription diet (which included sometimes having to cook for him). This process was the entire last year of his life, so I am extremely comfortable caring for dogs of any range. Losing Winston has been heartbreaking for my husband and I, and we're not ready to have our own pup again, but I'd love to open up my heart to care for yours when needed.

Kaitlyn was such a great sitter for Moose. She sent pictures throughout her stay and made sure she was as comfortable as possible. I would definitely recommend Kaitlyn again!

Kaitlyn watched over Athena while we were away for our pregnancy shoot. Athena absolutely loves her and she is very detail oriented, following Athena’s outside and food schedule to a T. She even sent us pictures to update us on how they’re doing. I couldn’t recommender her enough!

I have known Kaitlyn for many years and she is one of the kindest and most caring people I know. This is very reflective in her relationship with animals as well. About a year ago, Kaitlyn suffered the loss of her golden doodle, Winston, from stage four kidney disease. I have never seen anyone more loving and attentive to a sick animal’s needs. She went above and beyond for Winnie until the day came where they had to say goodbye. I think Rover is a great way for her to heal from this loss and take care of dogs again. From personal experience, Kaitlyn is very responsible and communicative when sitting for my dogs. She is one of the only people I trust with my German Shepherd Husky, Sadie, and my Aussiedoodle, Lyla. In fact, every time I have picked them up from her house, they don’t want to leave. When they are with her, I know I have nothing to worry about. I couldn’t recommend anyone better for your fur baby!

Although I am most experienced with larger Goldendoodles, I am comfortable with most breeds. Our previous dog, Winston, was a medical dog who required a lot of attention medically so I ask that any medical needs are stated prior to booking.

A typical day

Since I live in Highland Park, I take many walks to the local parks. There we will be able to play, get some energy out, and have potty breaks!
