Loving Care When You're Not There

Pet care experience

I am a working professional in Queen Anne’s County who enjoys spending time with animals in my free time! I’ve worked for eight years as a pet sitter both full and part time. This experience has introduced me to a wide range of pets with varying levels of needs and care. This has included mobility impaired pets, senior pets with bladder issues, administering oral and injectable medication, and on a rare occurrence handling an unexpected medical emergency. I currently have two cats of my own Greyson and Sugar and until recently had a Hedgehog that I loved dearly. I understand the stress of leaving your pet - and your home that you love so much with someone you don’t know. I try to ease this anxiety by sending photos of your pet at least twice a day, as well as a general synopsis of how the day went. I also ask that we speak ahead of time so that we can determine what level of communication you’re looking for, as well as any relevant information for making the experience as enjoyable and stress free for your pet as possible. I am available during the week with the kind reminder that I do work an average work day. I like to be very open about this as I know some pets require varying degrees of attention during the daytime, and my goal is to make sure pets can have their specific needs met, even if it’s with someone else. If you have any questions please feel to reach out to me, I’m happy to help!

Cannot recommend Kaitlyn enough! While sitting for our 3 dogs in our home, she sent us daily photos and updates, got all of our packages and mail, and even made the bed in the guest room before she left. A wonderful first experience on Rover!

Kaitlyn was excellent with our two elderly dogs. She was responsible, communicative, and provided us regular text updates and pictures. After five days, we came back to our pups and our home just as we had left them. We would definitely book Kaitlyn again!

Safety, trust & environment

My outlook on pet sitting is to treat the home and pet as if it were my own, and what I can tell you is I LOVE my home and pets above all else. (Don’t worry they’re happily taken care of while I’m gone!) There is no singular answer for how they’re treated because every client is different. I prefer when clients leave instructions as it makes it clear how I can best respect their trust (alarms, schedules, what to not touch, etc.) It might be an old school way of thinking (shoutout to my HS band teacher) but I adhere to the principle of leaving things at least as good as you find them. Staying in another person’s home is not a vacation, it’s a privilege, and I believe in doing my part.

Information Kaitlyn B. would like to know about your pet

When it comes to your pets I like to know as much as possible. I prefer when clients leave instructions about their pet, but also ask they communicate any special needs ahead of time. This includes: - Sensitivity to other animals - Aggression/guarding with toys, food, etc. - Aversions, triggers, and anxiety

A typical day

There is no typical day when it comes to pet sitting. Some client’s pets are up and ready to go at 7am and others prefer to sleep in until 10. Like everything else the experience your pet has will be personalized. In the past this had included (with permission) car rides, going to the dog park, and even to the beach.

I am a Caroline County resident who works for QAC downtown. I work an average workday of 8-4, M-F, with flexibility. Many of my jobs are booked over long weekends and holidays, but I happily accept jobs during the week if clients are comfortable with me being gone during the daytime.
