Pet care experience
Like everyone on Rover, I LOVE dogs. What sets me apart from the others is I’m a certified dog trainer with over 15 years experience caring for pets. In the past I've worked in boarding facilities, as a veterinarian technician assistant, and have volunteered hundreds of hours as a dog walker and trainer at numerous animal shelters/rescues. I have owned, fostered, and trained a variety of breeds and ages that all come from different backgrounds and behavioral issues. Most walkers and sitters have no formal training and dogs body language. If you’d like to start your puppy or young dog out right, I’m here to help! Along with being a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer and I’m a student at The Academy for Dog Trainers which is the most intensive training and behavioral program available. I use science based, positive training methods with all dogs. I also offer day train sessions which is 30 minute session where we work on behaviors. This can be anything from obedience, behavioral issues, or helping your dog gain confidence. Send a message if you’re interested.

Kaitlin went above and beyond for my puppy, Budd. This was my first time working with Kaitlin and I know Budd will be begging to go back to play with all his new friends! She made sure Budd was comfortable, healthy, and happy. She gave him tips on how to help Budd even after he comes home. I got lots of pictures and updates which made my vacation more relaxing knowing Budd was so well taken care of. I can’t recommend Kaitlin enough!
We have had Kaitlin take care of our two dogs several times, for longer trips or sometimes just for the day. Our dogs are spicy, and big, and she is so good with them! They were always so happy and exhausted by the time we got home, and often had learned a new trick or two. Kaitlin is one of the few people I truly trusted would care about our dogs as much as we do, and knew they would be safe and loved while we were gone. It’s a huge relief to not have to worry about our dogs while we’re away and to know that the person watching them can really handle (and enjoy) their high energy. We have also gotten a lot of help with training from Kaitlin, and I will happily give her the credit for making me a much more knowledgeable and caring dog guardian. She would still be our go to dog sitter if we still lived in the area, I can’t recommend Kaitlin enough!

Kaitlin allowed us to do a trial run with her before our longer upcoming trip. She was very accommodating to an overnight schedule and a dog that can be anxious in new places. She was amazing for Shadow and our family. Highly recommend for watching your dog.

I have a double lot that is a fully fenced in. I have 2 dogs of my own- both are young border collies (2.5 years and 1.5 years). All dogs are very dog social and have experience being with all sorts of different types of dogs. I am also a CPDT-KA certified dog trainer and only use science based, positive training methods.

I have breed preferences, I love all of them! -Is there any training that you are currently working on? -Is there behaviors I would have to watch out for (leash reactivity, resource guarding, potty training)?
A typical day
I have two young dogs who love new friends. A typical day at my house is well balanced with play, mental enrichment, training, and breaks/naps. Enrichment for my dogs gives them a healthy outlet for natural behaviors such as sniffing, licking, shredding, and digging. Training activities cover basic manners (sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, polite greetings, etc) and tricks.

Availability
I currently work full time from home and love spending my days with all the dogs in my house! I’m available for day care during working hours and walks either before 9am or after 5pm. I am currently only taking in dogs under 3 years old for daycare.
