Pet care experience
I’m an experienced, enthusiastic sitter, and I’d be absolutely delighted to hang out with your dog! I love making new four-legged friends. When your dog is in my care, you can rest assured that they are getting all of the attention and love they need. I love dogs and all their mannerisms. I have been dog-sitting and walking with Rover a little less than a year, and used to live with two beautiful Newfoundland dogs when I first moved to this area. The dogs I care for are not my own, but I treat them as if they were, and how I would want my dog to be treated. I promise to treat your dog like they're mine too! I am a great pet sitter because I'm organized, clean, active and disciplined. I communicate with owners daily when I am watching a dog to keep them updated (unless they've requested otherwise). I've enjoyed watching dogs of all breeds and sizes that have different levels of activity interest. My current home is within walking distance to a park and a dog park. It is also close to Rock Creek Park, so there are plenty of trail options available for walking as well. When I am not pet sitter I love to get out to climb and snowboard. I also love parkour, and skateboarding. I just might teach your old dog a new trick! Dogs can kickflip, right? :) Please reach out to me to learn more! I'd love to get to know you and your pet.
Reviews
Kaila was very responsive to all of my messages and accommodating for my last minute request for a house sitter for my dog! She did not report any trouble walking my dog, who can be a bit unpredictable. However, I was disappointed in the amount of attention that my dog received. I believe that her night time visit was missed on one occasion and was left in her crate for 15 hours. I was also disappointed when I found the new toys and prepared food treats I left were never used. I also did not give permission to bring guests over. This final point is my fault for not being explicit enough, but I was expecting my dog to receive a bit more attention than just walks and meals when booking a house sitter.
Kaila has walked and dog sat for me a number of times, and she's always done an incredible job! She's conscientious, communicative, and absolutely wonderful with my dog Lola. Highly recommended!
Georgia loved Kaila!!! She took very good care of my baby girl and I came home to an apartment that was cleaner than when I left! I highly recommend her! Thank you taking such great care of Georgia!!
Kaila was an ideal dog and house sitter for our two aging dogs. Her excellent communication kept my mind at ease. She was kind enough to come over early to meet us and hear about our needs.

Information Kaila R. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know what the dogs comfort level is. For example, are they scared of tall people? Or do they get nervous around people with hats or something covering their face? Do they like to run? Are they the type of dog to run off without warning? Are they allergic to anything, or do they need any medications? My priority is to make sure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible. I want to know all about your routines, rules, and expectations. Don’t hesitate to load me up with info! An informed sitter is an effective sitter! I return the favor by sending daily update texts to puppy parents.
A typical day
DC has a lot of great parks and hidden fields, such as Meridian Hill, the Parcourse near Woodley Park. I love to be active myself, so depending on the ability/agility of the dog, we would go for jogs/walks together and adventure to new parks and fields (depending on the dog & owners comfort level). I used to play lacrosse, so I'd like to be able to toss a ball around with the dog, or practice coordination skills.
