I have been taking care of animals since I was 10 years old. When I was 10, my family and I bought a very sweet lab/pit mix who lived for 16 years! When he was around 6 or 7, my brother married his wife who had two Weimaraners. So, they had a grand total of three large dogs! (Also not important for this description, but those two Weimaraners had puppies and if you would ever like to see cute puppy pictures from the litter I have lots of them!) While I was in high school I would frequently take care of all three dogs when they were busy with work or had to go out of town. Also, once I graduated college I moved in with them for around a year and a half and took care of all three dogs on a daily basis. My first dog in his later years had hip problems and I had to give him daily medicine, so I do have some experience with senior dogs but it is limited. Also, when I lived with my fiance and her parents for around a year before she and I moved from Alabama to Florida, I helped in taking care of 3 dogs and 4 cats! I genuinely love dogs and cats to the point that I am sometimes slightly concerned I place more attention on animals than people 😅 I am also currently in law school at Stetson University. My goal is to be able to do this job full time because it would be a great job to have with school. Because that is my goal, I will be able to have more flexibility than most dog sitters because I don't have a typical 9-5 job. Law school requires me to devote a lot of time to study, but I am able to be home and have lots of flexibility. I do have one cat in my home but if I am boarding an animal in my home I will put my cat in my guest bedroom (he will love the alone time anyways so it is not a problem). I also have experience in taking care of animals that belong to people outside of my family or close social circle. The most extensive example would be that a former neighbor of mine was out of town for an entire month and I took care of his dog the entire time. I am a law student at Stetson University. That being said, because most of my time is devoted to study where I can be home, I have much more flexibility than a person who works 9:00-5:00. My goal is for this to be my full-time job while I am in school. If you are wanting me to board your pet in my home, I have a fenced in backyard that is very convenient for taking out your dogs as often as they need. I will be happy to walk them as well if that is something you would like! They are more than welcome to sleep in the bed with me as well! If I am going to your house, I will do whatever you need me to do as long as I can physically do it! I love going on walks with dogs and if your dog is in shape and there is not a risk of overheating your dog I'd be glad to take your dog on a jog as well because I am currently trying my best to start exercising! (:
