Pet care experience
I am a dog lover working as a Evaluation Specialist in Berkeley, CA. I am looking for some puppy love as a way to relax. I am a very active individual, love to hike (I will take your dogs on the fire trails if you want) and run around Berkeley. I am also happy to bring your dog with me while I do my normal life things. I have owned dogs all my life. I have trained my own puppies and have experience with older dogs as well. My puppy family includes a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel, a 9-year-old Boxer mix and, a the newest addition, a year old shepherd mix. I joined Rover as a way to connect with my community, give back to others, and keep myself active.

Kaela is incredible! She's super responsive in all of our messaging, and I really appreciated all the amazing photos. Not only was it nice to get photos, but they were such great pics-- my friends joked that some of the photos were worthy of a doggy dating profile. She is so amazing, cared for our pup like he was her own, even stayed up all night with him when she thought he was sick and sent us lots of updates love her and highly recommend!
Kaela is fantastic! She went above and beyond taking care of my border collie while I was away. They went on some beautiful hikes and sent pictures so I could share the fun. Highly reccommend.

At my home, I live on a quiet street with a fenced in yard that has a great lawn for a dog to run around on. I live relatively close to hiking trails and dog parks but will drive your dog to a specific location/hike if they have a favorite. I live with two roommates who love having pets around. When your dog is at my place, while I am the sole caretaker and the only one who will take them out for hikes and walks, they have other folks around that are equally interested in playing with them in the house and our backyard. When I am taking care of your pet in your home, your house rules are my house rules. I am willing to accommodate all your preferences.

I would like to know how your dog is on walks and any special care instructions. Do they have leash aggression? How are they with other dogs or new people? Do they take any medicines? Are they afraid of certain environments or noises? What are their sleeping habits? Do they sleep in your bed? Are they kenneled at night? How often do they need to be taken out for bathroom breaks? I would also like to meet your dog with the owners present first.
A typical day
I like to hike around Pacifica and would love a companion. Tilden, Redwood regional, Cesar Chavez park, Point Isabel and Albany Bulb are a few places I love to go for outdoor time. If your dog likes to fetch I can throw balls and frisbees with them at local dog parks. If your dog enjoys runs I will bring them with me as well. I am very flexible and willing to do any activity your dog enjoys most.

Availability
When I am watching your dog, I follow their schedule. My professional job is remote which means I can be flexible about when I take time to go on walks and care for your pet. I am an early riser by nature and when watching your pet, I will take them on a morning walk/run, then mid-day I typically do another shorter walk around the neighborhood or if you have a backyard I will play fetch with them. In the evening, I will take your dog on another long walk - typically a hike in the hills or to the dog park so they can get some extra stimulation. Throughout the day, I am all about 10min play time breaks and bathroom breaks. With a desk job like mine, I need to move as much as they do! Before bed I always do a final bathroom break. My overall goal is fun and lots of outdoor time!
