Ruffin' it in Waterford!

Pet care experience

If you are looking for a loving and safe place for your dogs to stay while you are gone, look no further! Myself and my significant other, Josh, have both grown up with dogs of many kinds, both large and small. We currently have 3 dogs of our own (two Labradors and one Labrador mix) who are very accepting of new pals to play with. We have fostered over 100 dogs through a couple of different rescues with success in helping them find their furever homes. Through working in veterinary clinics and boarding facilities, I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge regarding caring for animals. I have also volunteered at local animal shelters and rescues, which has allowed me to become comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes. We are offering baths and nail trims for $15 along with your visit. We use Nature's Specialties Plum Silky shampoo and conditioner, which leaves dogs' coats silky, shiny and smelling clean. We use regular clippers and a Dremel tool for nail trims to get the nails short and smooth. ****FREE IF YOUR DOG BOARDS FOR ONE WEEK OR MORE**** All of our current dogs are over 40lbs, but we have experience with puppies and smaller breeds. Our current dogs do well with most other dogs and are able to play together outside, always under supervision. If it turns out that the dogs don't get along, we can easily separate them indoors and provide separate walks and indoor/outdoor play time. If you are boarding your dog with us, we would like for you to bring proof of vaccinations, food, collar with ID tag and leash. You can also feel free to bring dog beds, special toys or anything else to make your dog feel comfortable away from home.

My dog, Django, had a great stay with Justine for 8 days over the holidays. He enjoyed playing with her dogs and I felt very comfortable that she was able to care for him and also was easy to communicate with in case of any issues or questions. I received regular updates and could see from the photos that my dog was tired and happy! I would definitely take my dog back to stay with Justine and recommend her to anyone in the area looking to board their dog somewhere the dog will feel comfortable and be able to interact with people and dogs consistently. The cherry on top was how AMAZING he smelled after getting a bath before coming home! Thanks a lot Justine!

My 12 year old dog stayed with Justine for 9 days. Justine was great with him. He enjoys playing with other dogs so she had him playing with two of her own. She laid out his blanket from home on one of her beds so he could rest comfortably. Her husband watched movies with him resting beside most days. He wasn't feeling like eating the first day so she gave him a couple of treats until his appetite returned. I can't recommend Justine enough. Her vet tech experience is a bonus.

My fiancé and I traveled to Japan for 15 days, and we left our six month old Siberian Husky, Yuki, with Justine. She did wonderfully! Justine was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process, and we even arranged a meet and greet before we left on our trip to ensure Yuki would get along with Justine's dogs. Yuki loved playing with Justine's two huskies and three other dogs, and the experience was great for Yuki's ongoing training through puppyhood. Justine provided pictures and updates frequently through email the entire time we were on our trip, and we were never left worrying about how Yuki might be doing. Justine has experience with bigger dog breeds, and it is clear she is knowledgeable on their behavior and training methods. I cannot recommend her enough if you are planning on traveling and need a good place for your pup to stay!

Information Justine E. would like to know about your pet

Since we do have our own animals, safety is a big concern. Generally speaking, our dogs get along with almost all of the boarding dogs in our home, but I do like to invite prospective clients and their dogs for an initial meet&greet prior to boarding. This allows us to introduce them properly and ensure that they will get along; it eases our minds and yours, too. Please let us know if your dog has any behavioral issues or bite history; this will allow us to be 100% sure that we can safely take care of your dog while you are away. During the meet&greet, I also like to discuss where your dog sleeps at night, where s/he stays during the day when you are away, when s/he eats, what type of exercise (yard play, walks, fetch, etc) is required and everything in between.

A typical day

Dogs staying in our home would receive: *Multiple supervised play/potty sessions outside in our fenced yard, weather permitting *1-2 walks per day (weather permitting, depending on dog's energy requirements) *Indoor play *Lots of love and attention *"Pupdates" with photos to send to owners We have a large, fenced-in backyard that has a 5 foot chain link fence. Most dogs enjoy spending time outside when the weather is nice - some of them run around and play chase, while others enjoy laying in the shade or giving everything a good sniff. We want your dog to feel as comfortable as possible while in our home. We have extra crates available if that is where s/he is comfortable, but since we live in a tri-level, we can easily gate off a section of the house to leave them loose. Some dogs even hop up in our bed at night and share our pillows!
