I am in the Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Syracuse and a dedicated pet sitter when not in class! Some of my leading traits are patience, adaptability, acting as if the pet was my own, and active listening to the information you convey to me to ensure your peace of mind and your pets best care. I’ve cared for numerous types of dogs, including: my housemates Springer Spaniel, my girlfriends Pitbull (who was a defensive shelter dog that needed to be handled gently and in a soothing manner), my old neighbors shitzus, and multiple sittings through the app!

Justin took great care of our three cats and our dog. He even administered medication to our dog because of an unexpected illness. I would highly recommend him!
Justin is incredible with animals and such a gentle soul. I know him as a neighbor who has watched my 3 shih tzus before and they absolutely love him — even my persnickety rescue! He is entirely flexible and eager to complete any additional requests I ask of him. Wonderful, understanding, and patient with all animals, I would (and do!) recommend him to everybody!

I actively gauge how your pet is feeling to see if they need more play, pets, space to themselves, time outside, treats, etc. I know that each dog has different needs and personalities, I strive to act accordingly and adapt when needed. Any relevant information you let me know of, I will apply to my care and way of being to make sure your pet is as comfortable and happy as can be. If I am pet sitting in your home, I will always leave the space as clean and organized as I found it and will take my shoes off as to not track dirt.

Knowing your dog’s typical energy levels and favorite treats and activities can offer the best insight into how I will cater to their preferences when watching them! Also, if I’m caring for them in your home, knowing where everything is located is important so I can easily access any related food, medicine, poop bags, etc.
A typical day
I love being in nature as I’ve mentioned, I tend to walk either around the neighborhood, at Thornden park, or Barry park. Depends on the area and the dogs energy! With your permission, if it’s suitable, I would gladly run with your dog if it is high energy! I’m currently training for a half marathon. I will also see if they want to play with toys, I’ll give belly rubs (I’m a pro), and treats when appropriate!

Availability
I have class Mon-Wednesday starting at 4, but can generally work around anytime before that or from Thurs-Sun. I’m flexible, love being outside in nature, and am an avid runner if your dog wants to go at a faster pace! Providing walks, play, and care for dogs is a means for me to recharge throughout my week.
