Pet care experience
I’ve been around dogs my entire life. Growing up there were always at least one if not two or three dogs in the house at a give time. I currently have a 9 month old adorable Corgi named Carl who has never met a dog he doesn’t like or tries to be best friends with. He gets along well with dogs of all ages from puppies to seniors. My apartment complex is dog friendly with multiple parks within walking distance, including one that backs up to the apartment building as well as a small dog park a short walk away that I frequent with Carl. I have dog sat for a number of friends and family at my apartment, all of which left here happy and excited to come back! You can either bring your own toys and treats or let your pup choose from any of the ones here. Carl loves to share his toys and show new dogs around the apartment and neighborhood. I think he tries to convince them to move in permanently! I have experience grooming dogs of all coat types and of all different temperaments and I am more than happy to offer this if requested. If your dog has sensitive skin just make sure to bring your own shampoo! If you are interested in me helping with training while boarding, I have many years under my belt. I have trained multiple dogs of all ages and currently work with Carl daily. I use a positive reinforcement technique that varies a bit based on how a dog responds to it, e.g. praise vs treat motivated pups. If you have specific needs or requests for your dog I am more than willing to accommodate them if it means you and your dog receive the best care possible.

Justin is a treasure!! He and Carl have been so good with Linus. I’m very appreciative of how he is with his own dog and mine - it gives me piece of mind when Linus is with them💜
Justin did such a great job with our dig and was very sensitive to her needs. I recommend him 100%!
Justin watched our dog on short notice for 4 days while we took a short road trip. He was prompt, concise, and friendly in his texting communications through the Rover app. Even though the short notice, he unhesitatingly agreed to a meet and greet for our dog with his cute well behaved Corgi. I sensed his kindness immediately upon meeting and talking with him. During the first days of our trip, he texted a few photos and details which enforced our impression of him as a reliable and caring caregiver for our pooch. Upon pick up, I think our dog even forgot us as he accommodated to his new companions so quickly and playfully. We will definitely call on Justin again for dogcare when needed. And, we encourage others to also do so.
Justin did a great job watching my dog Biscuit. He came back tired and well fed. Also took him on long walks which was highly appreciated. Biscuit was very happy with the services Justin provided and so was I.

There is a large park directly behind my apartment complex that is dog friendly with lots of trails for walking that my dog Carl loves. He and I will also go to other dog parks and walking trails nearby us to get more exercise. Since my dog Carl is 8 months old I am taking him outside to get exercise and stretch his little legs multiple times throughout the day. We are an active household between playtime, going for walks, and puzzle toys to exercise their brain. If your dogs activity level is different than mine and Carls we can easily adjust it to fit their needs. When it comes to your dog it is their stay, their way. That means your pup will get to take charge based on their comfort level in a new environment. When it comes to walks outside or playtime they will get to decide what they want and I will be there to keep them safe and happy. When we aren’t out for walks, my apartment has a large open living room and kitchen that Carl loves to run around when he gets the zoomies. I keep the water bowl full at all times and can accommodate dogs with specific diets if needed. If you have any specific requests let me know! I allow them on the furniture and bed unless you prefer them not to be. Carl and I would love to meet and get to know you and your pup before your stay with us!

A typical day
A typical day for me and Carl is a minimum of 3 walks a day ranging from 1 hour up to 5 depending on the weather. There are many trails around my apartment complex to walk through as well as quite neighbor hoods. A short walk away is a smaller dog park that Carl insists on going to because it means he gets to run and play with other dogs there. With the warmer weather I always make sure to bring a portable dog water bottle with to stay hydrated. We will also hop in the car and go for a drive to walk around Lake Bde Maka Ska where Carl likes to wade in the water to cool off. The Lake of the Isles dog park is another favorite place of ours to go to. They have two large parks, one for dogs under 20lbs and another for larger dogs. There are nicely shaded and Carl always makes a friend while we are there.

Availability
I work Monday through Thursday until 4pm and have Friday through Sunday off. This means I’ll have evenings during my work week as well as 3 full days every weekend to spend caring for and playing with your pup! I’m available for boarding after 4:30pm on Thursdays and all day Friday through Sunday. Boarding during the week days is also available! I work about 10 minutes away from my apartment and come back halfway through the day to let my dog Carl out to play and go outside. He is never in his kennel longer than 4 hours at a time. If your pup requires more frequent visits outside let me know and see if we can work something out.
