Pet care experience
As a forever animal lover and Equine Sciences graduate (Colorado State University), as well as small animal specialty veterinary assistant, I am so excited to be able to be a Rover caretaker both at and away from home! While house-sitting, I ensure that your pet is cared for the same way as if you had never left, and I love them as if they were my own. Whether you have a dog that needs constant interaction and activity, or one that prefers sunbathing in front of the TV, I enjoy every animal's company. I have extensive experience administering both oral and IV / IM / SQ medication to both dogs and cats and am comfortable with whatever requirements your pet may have. I was raised in an animal loving home and have had the opportunity to care for countless pets, most of which were dogs. I have solid experience volunteering at a local animal shelter, where I was mainly walking and socializing both dogs and cats. I was fortunate enough to attend a training and behavioral education session led by a nationally renowned dog trainer and learned how to better handle bigger and more aggressive dogs. Outside of my shelter experience, I have had the pleasure of walking my neighbors' dogs and spending time with their animals. These aspects make me an accomodating Rover sitter for the most energetic (or not!) of dogs. At home, I have a Dachshund and my roommate owns a cat along with small rodents, so I only offer house sitting at this time. Your pet's comfort and safety come first! Since I am only able to house sit for now, I am happy to incorporate the pet's daily routine into my own. I am very flexible in that I can accomodate pets that prefer varying levels of activity and social interaction. (I also have extensive experience caring for cats, rodents, fish, rabbits, and chickens - nothing is too much to handle!)
Reviews
Juri has been house sitting my dog Linda for multiple years. She’s the most communicative and responsible Rover I’ve had. Plus, Linda looks forward to seeing her. Juri does well with Linda’s dog reactivity and I trust her to keep my little puppy girl safe!
What a lovely lady! She was amazing to our brand new puppy! We didn't plan to have a new fur baby, and we had already purchased $200 tickets to a show in Denver that we couldn't back out of. Juri saved the day and allowed us a little bit of reprieve after 2 solid weeks of puppy energy. She was prompt, responsive, checked in with us every hour with pictures, and she was truly a lovely person to meet. We plan to use her in the future and can't recommend her enough!
We had Juri watch our 3 pets, 1 dog and 2 cats, for a long weekend. Our pets loved her and she was super attentive to them for the time she was here. We would definently use her again!:)
My pets loved Juri and she took great care of them and the house. Sent me photos every day. Highly recommend!

Safety, trust & environment
I will always appreciate a safe, welcoming environment. As I am not currently able to offer boarding, I depend on the safety of my clients' homes. In a comfortable space that I can be familiarized with prior to the booking, I am able to perform best (including being familiar with the pets!).
Home
Information Juri M. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know the general nature of the dog's behavior, including any fears or potential triggers of aggression or anxiety. I would also like to know any specific health requirements or issues, as well as disabilities to ensure I am able to accomodate the dog. Knowing the dog's typical feeding and exercise habits / routines will also help me to give the dog the most comfortable stay possible. I personally prefer medium to bigger breeds, but all are welcome! I do not in any way discriminate based on breed, including those labelled "aggressive". I believe in "bad owners, not bad dogs" and will glady welcome any breed into my home.
A typical day
I'm happy to do whatever the dog is able to! Whether that includes long walks (or to the end of the street and back), playing indoors and out, or just hanging out as couch potatoes, your pet(s) will be treated and loved as my own.

Availability
I currently maintain a part-time job at CSU's equine hospital as well as taking some classes (will be done Dec 2023!), but I will still be able to provide care for most of the day as well as spend the nights if needed.
