Pet care experience
I've owned dogs all my life, and have years of experience in training dogs, as well! My mother works for a company that gets volunteer raisers to house and train dogs for the visually impaired, and we've also been volunteer raisers for the company. I raised one myself in high school and have helped my family to care for and train many dogs since then. During high school I also took a veterinary skills course and a course on training dogs. I am comfortable administering medication and know how to administer dog CPR. I moved here very recently and it is the first time in my life that I don't have a dog of my own to care for. I'm mostly doing this because I love animals, and I don't want that love to go to waste!

Juniper Hollis was a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and raised Dolores a black female labrador retriever. Juniper also has helped raise a number of potential guide dogs that made their way through her household. At last count it was up around 17! In addition Juniper has been exposed to chickens, rabbits, cats and other larger farm animals through volunteering in 4-H or accompanying her parents or siblings on trips to care for various animals in town. Juniper has also cared for two pet dogs in the household, Crawford and Theo. Juniper is conscientious and reliable and puts animals first. It is my pleasure to write a recommendation for Juniper!

I'm not currently taking dogs to my home, as I do not have permission from my landlord to do so. I do not have a car, but I am more than happy to do overnights at clients' houses who are within biking distance of my location, or who are on the bus route. I love going for walks, so I can assure you that your dog will get exercise, and I love playing with dogs, too! I have a girlfriend who also loves dogs, and she'll be sure to provide a little extra love for your pets when she's accompanying me!

I love all dogs, but I especially love big dogs! I'm very affectionate and love to get up close with a dog, but I'm very good at recognizing when dogs want space, and their comfort comes first! Something that is important for me to know before I sit for you is what your pets' comfort levels are with other dogs and with children. While I don't plan to go up to other people with dogs and children, I recognize that other people are very unpredictable, and I would like to be prepared as best as possible for any such interactions.
A typical day
There are lots of great parks that I can take your dogs nearby. While I will not take your dog off leash unless we are in a location with a fence, I am more than happy to run around with your dog on leash, play tug, and walk around!

Availability
I work full time as a laboratory manager, but I'm currently working from home most of the time. I am available most nights and weekends, and although I do occasionally have to go to the lab for work, I'm mostly in charge of my schedule. When I am working from home, my hours are very flexible. The hours that I am most often in the lab are in the early morning (7AM-10AM) and in the late afternoon (3PM-6PM). I have no problem taking a break from work to walk dogs as I am able to work from home any time of the day.
