I have taken care of dogs since I was 13 years old. I always said that one hasn’t experienced true love till they have been loved by a dog. They truly are exceptional beings. And each on I have ever met has made a mark on me. I work from home so I have a pretty flexible schedule. I have one dog of my own so fitting another few dogs into our schedule feels quiet natural. We are a house of dog lover! The only limitation I have is that we need dogs that are friendly with kids and other dogs. I don’t have a fenced yard to separate dogs so this is a top priority for me to be able to care for them. I take the dogs out for frequent breaks through the day. And I take them all to the dog park which is 5 mins away from where I live twice a day. I provide them the food that owners provide. And if they don’t have restrictions then I provide the treats myself. I have also started offering home-cooked meals for the dogs that come to stay for long periods of time. I make home-made food for my dog and when the other dogs come they usually don’t want to eat their kibbles as they are so interested in April’s food. I make chicken and rice cooked together in the morning and rice, beef, carrots, peas, broccoli and green beans cooked together at night. But I do offer different combination of meals based on owner preference. If they have allergies to certain meats then I can substitute the meat for something that suits them.
