Safe, supportive care for all pets

Pet care experience

I have been obsessed with dogs for as long as I can remember, from visiting pet expos with my mom and sister, watching every Air Buddies movie in existence, and even writing a project on “How To Train Your Dog” in fifth grade. I began providing services walking and administering medications for my beloved neighbors chronically ill standard poodle, Ella. The second I found out Rover existed I signed up and cared for several pets on a regular basis. In hopes of turning my passions into a career, I turned to a local doggy daycare and boarding facility and learned all there was to know about animal behavior, fear free handling and providing a safe space for numerous dogs to play. After a short amount of time, I was granted the opportunity to study pet grooming under an experienced groomer. My love for it grew exponentially, as I learned how creative I could be while grooming pups. I soon started working at a private salon in Bethesda and apprenticed under an incredibly talented master groomer. I have provided grooming services for over five hundred dogs, creating trusting relationships, lasting bonds, and unique individualized styles for every dog. From a simple bath and brush out on a docile old lab, to a three inch long hand scissored haircut on a stubby little golden doodle named Yofi. I was excited to care for every pet and ensured their safety and comfortability was my top priority. As well as my extensive experience grooming pets, I have worked at two separate locations with of focus on animal behavior. The first being a beautiful cage free daycare and boarding center, where I was able to create safe and comfortable environments for pets during the day and night. During my time, I picked the brains of my superiors learning even more about specific behaviors and how to create a functional environment that mirrored their life at home. The second location was a large training facility offering a more in depth approach to dog training. Here I learned new techniques on how to manage dogs, establish obedience and worked closely with trainers to create successful grooming desensitization techniques. I took much of what I learned home with me, teaching my five pound Miniature Pinscher, Hazel, new skills and tricks. I absolutely love learning every aspect of caring for our canine companions and while I focus my efforts on pursing an education I hope to continue to provide the highest quality care for our best friends. I have experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds and temperaments. As well as, pets with medical conditions and physical or neurological disabilities. I hope my passion and genuine love for animals shines through my words, and you’ll choose me for your pups next adventure! Oh and btw….. the first nail trimming and buffing is on me!

Juliet recognized how lonely Gabby was and stayed extra time to walk and play with her. She was on time and always sent texts and photos to us. Juliet seemed to genuinely care about Gabby and her needs, which was very much appreciated. Thank you, Juliet!!

Safety, trust & environment

My absolute number one priority when it comes to pet care at home, in a grooming setting and on adventures is the pets safety and well being. My first step to ensure the safety of the animal is to observe his or her at home setting and behavior to get to know what their normal is. I typically start all of my visits familiarizing myself with the dogs normal relaxing areas, outdoor settings, favorite treats and toys, and their daily routine. Dogs are definitely creatures of habit and in order to minimize stress I try to follow a typical day as closely as I can. I focus on getting to know animals on a deep level to easily be able to pick up on signs that are less than normal. Figuring out what the pet likes and dislikes are allows me to make their time the most enjoyable and comfortable it can be. Each pet is different whether they like following the same route for every walk, prefer to play fetch out back or love sun bathing and relaxing indoors. I intend to provide individualized care for every animal and make lasting, trusting relationships. I am always open to any suggestions or requests that owners have to ensure each pets comfortability and safety while in my care.

Information Juliet K. would like to know about your pet

A few things that help me get to know your pets better are… - Your pet’s medical history - What your dogs or cats energy levels are on a standard day - If they are taking any prescription medications or supplements - If your pet is super friendly or a little more shy and reserved - What their play style is! (Energetic, rough, intelligent, hands on, food motivated, etc.) - Places your pet LOVES to visit - Any behavioral issues (pulling on leash, resource guarding, not pet friendly, etc.) and any strategies you use to manage them

A typical day

A typical day for a pet in my care varies greatly depending on the dog or cats individual needs. Determining what the pet enjoys best allows me to simulate a normal day with their family. Whether they prefer to lounge around or go on hikes, my care is sculpted to fit the pets specific needs. I am more than willing to go above and beyond for each individual pet and to shape our adventures on what they prefer! I love playing fetch, tug, using puzzles and snuffle mats or even practicing some obedience to ensure they are mentally and physically stimulated. It
