4 Legged People Are Always Welcome!

Pet care experience

Hello and thank you for reading about me! I have had my own pets for more than 23 years and loved every one of them! I spent more than 6 years in dog rescue and had more than 150 large and XL foster dogs and puppies stay with me. I've also helped more than that many people and their 4-legged companions learn how to get along better in the home, car, on a leash and with other 4-legged friends and made some amazing friendships along the way! I have a passion for dogs of all ages and special needs. My husband and I are both working professionals who have our own businesses which thankfully allows us to create our own schedules and enables us to be home a great part of most every day to cater to our companions. We are currently the proud companions of a 9 year old female Bloodhound who absolutely loves the company of other dogs regardless of age or energy level! I look forward to talking with you in the days and months ahead and getting to know you and your pups!

My dog is a service dog. I trust very few people to take care of him when I have to leave him. Julie is fantastic with him! She has YEARS of training, boarding and rescue EXPERIENCE . Her home has a large fenced yard in a pet friendly neighborhood! Your dog will be well cared for by Julie. I trust her with my boy!

Information Julie W. would like to know about your pet

Please absolutely let me know the following: ~ Does your pet have any specific feeding needs or medications and if so what time they should be given to keep them on track. ~ Does your pet have any certain fears you are aware of? Any noises, behaviors by people or other dogs or certain activities? I will always strive to do my best to keep your fur baby as comfortable and happy as they would be in their on home! ~ Does your companion have any allergies, plants, food or otherwise? ~ Please be prepared to share your veterinarian info with me and any emergency contacts so I know the best way to care for them should something unexpected arise with their health. ~ Please share any of their behaviors I should be aware of to help keep them happy while you are away! Dogs all have their own personalities and it is great to be given a heads up as to what their particular quirks may be :)

A typical day

Aside from all the regular activities like walks, playing ball, tug or with a toy, I play a game with my dog I call an Easter egg hunt. I take a low calorie dog cookie or approved snack, break it into pieces and help dogs learn how to use their nose to find the pieces. It gets them up and moving and they have a ball! I also have taught some dogs how to play leapfrog! I get one to come a certain distance and lay down and stay, then call the next and so forth :)

I have been self-employed for the past 8 years and absolutely love the flexibility it gives me to schedule each day as needed. I am generally home all but about 2-3 hours a day and my husband's schedule is quite similar. It has allowed us to care for dogs with special needs quite well and we feel very blessed!
