For the past 3 years that I have known Julie, she has proven to be full of energy, responsible, adventurous, and compassionate. She has walked my dogs throughout the years and has not only walked them, but has also boarded them and has trained them! I have a young pup who loves tugging on a leash and she redirected that behavior in just a few sessions! As an educator and Master's student at UCLA, it's clear that she's a teacher that loves to teach others! She taught me how teach my dogs new tricks, how to set boundaries with them, how to walk them and not have them walk me! By joining Rover, Julie is showing that she is combining the best of both world: working with people and working with animals. Julie has an elastic heart when it comes to taking care of animals as she sees them as family members and treats them just as they were her own.Last year, Julie found a lost dog whom she rescued. She showered him, and went to her local vet to verify if he had a chip. When they were unable to locate a chip, she printed flyers and posted them all over LA. Eventually, the owner was found! As a dog owner herself, Julie understands the ideas that run through a person's mind when they have to leave their dog in the hands of another person. I assure you that she will put all those thoughts and anxiety to rest as she treats every dog like it is her own. Prior to becoming an educator, Julie's dream career trajectory had her dreaming of becoming a vet. She dreamt of rescuing dogs, rehabilitating them and saving them from shelters. Although she is now working towards becoming a teacher for LA youth, her dreams and passion of loving, helping, and being around dogs still holds true. As a person and professional, Julie is: genuine, sensitive and responds to the needs of the person/situation/animal in front of her, kind, energetic, dynamic, creative, altruistic, observant, generous, adaptive/responsive/flexible, has exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills, responsive to feedback , reliable and consistent, practices safety and wears her heart on her sleeve!
