A Mini-Vacay While You're Away!
Pet care experience
Your dog deserves the best care when you're away. By limiting my home to one guest dog (or one family of guest dogs- if you have more than one dog), I can ensure they receive plentiful one-on-one attention. Our pet-friendly home has ample room to run around and play, a large, fully-fenced backyard, and my proximity to Lake Washington and various trails have the potential to keep your dog endlessly stimulated - often they'll be too happily played out to worry when you'll return! I've cared for a variety of dogs since I was a kid. My first dog was a German Shepherd when I was 10 and I currently have an almost 15 year old Pomeranian-Poodle mix named Wes. I have looked after all kinds of dogs from a teacup havanese to an ex-racing greyhound. I have experience with puppies, administering medication, behavior training, and even giving dog haircuts (a really handy new pandemic skill borne out of necessity - thank you, YouTube). I am the go-to friend for emergency contacts and I would love to make sure your furry bff has a fantastic and safe time while you're away.
Reviews
As we did a few meet and greets, our dog Mochi, knew something was going to happen. She was whining in her carrier bag as I was about to drop her off. We walked up to the door, Julie (and Wes) calmed her instantly. Mochi had a great long weekend in Mt, Baker! She clearly had plenty of exercise and attention, she was definitely cleaner than when she was dropped off! We won’t think twice for our next trip we’re booking with Julie again!
Julie and her household provided excellent care for my two dogs while we were out of town. She was very attentive to their needs, provided loving care and regular walks, and also sent regular updates. Our dogs clearly enjoyed their stay! We would recommend her without reservation and happily board with her again.
I found the most amazing pet sitter for my dog, Churro! She took care of him while my family was visiting, and we couldn't be happier. Five stars all the way! This pet sitter was a true gem. From the start, she showed genuine love for animals and made me feel at ease. Churro's well-being was her top priority, and she went above and beyond to give him the best care. Churro had a blast with her! She gave him plenty of exercise, playtime, and loads of love. I received regular updates and adorable pictures, which made our time apart a little easier.
Julie is wonderful! Our dog loves staying with her, and we feel very comfortable with her taking care of him.

Separation from owners is tough on pets and while you're at work or play, your dog will receive the best care and attention for the most stress-free transition possible. Lots of play, cuddles, and exploration! My dog Wes looks forward to his temporary siblings and shares toys and water bowl well with no territorial behavior. We have a beautiful, fenced backyard for the dogs to romp around and explore in (read: lots of greenery to pee on) and our house is large and full of soft, cozy things and quiet spaces to nap in when they're all worn out :) The noise isolation is great in our home and we live in a fairly quiet area.

Information Julie K. would like to know about your pet
Kindly inform me during our M&G of any special needs. I like to know all the quirks and triggers and routines of your dog's day-to-day life so I can prepare for their stay and make the transition as smooth as possible during their stay. Some Q's I may ask during our brief Meet & Greet: - Walk me through a typical day in your dog's home life. Do they use certain signals/behaviors to convey when they want something? - Do they like to sleep in the bed with people or have their own designated spot at night? - Any allergens/food allergies/sensitivities/triggers? - How food-motivated is your dog? Are they a non-food item chewer and/or stuffie-ripper? - How does your dog fare on car rides? - How does your dog behave while leashed? Are they reactive? - When encountering another dog, is it better to put space between the dogs or allow the dogs to sniff/get acquainted?
A typical day
I am located by Lake Washington so I am able to take dogs on long walks or jogs along the water. We have a fully fenced, beautifully landscaped backyard that the dogs can explore in and roam to their hearts' content. Our house is spacious and has three levels - plenty of room for zoomies, comfy places for cozy naps, and of course dog-treat-dispensing-humans and toys abound to keep the dogs endlessly stimulated.

I WFH remotely full time! I live with my significant other and two close friends -- all of whom are dog lovers and also work from home so there is always someone to play with. No constant barkers or chewers, please - calls and zoom meetings happen throughout the workday.
