Pet care experience

Hi there! I'm thrilled to join the Rover community as a passionate dog sitter. Caring for animals is not just a job for me; it's a calling. My husband and I have 3 rescues dogs. I have been pet sitting and caring for animals for over 20 years. I have cared for dogs that have battled cancer, seizures, old age, and puppies of all sizes and breeds. Whether your pup loves cuddle sessions on the couch, energetic runs in the park, or just needs someone to toss their favorite toy, I'm here to ensure they get all the love and attention they deserve while you're away..

Julie was great with Roy. He is so anxious when meeting new people so she just let him take the lead at his comfort level. After a short while (and some turkey lunch meat) she was his best friend. Julie was so understanding when visits were cancelled with short notice. Circumstances changed during the course of our booking because my husband was in the hospital 60 miles from home. Julie was very understanding and flexible with our daily revisions. Thank you Julie for taking great care of our big puppy!

Julie took exemplary care of our pups! One of our dogs had glaucoma and has to take three different medications three times per day, and Julie was able administer them as required without any issues. She was kind and caring, updating us with notes and photos throughout our vacation. I highly recommend Julie and will definitely ask her to watch our pups in the future.

A typical day

A Pawesome Day with Julie: Morning: We'll start the day with a refreshing and energizing walk around the neighborhood to wake up and stretch our legs. I love to make this a pleasant routine, so your pup can start the day in a happy mood. After our walk, it's breakfast time! I’ll ensure your furry friend enjoys a nutritious meal, following your provided feeding guidelines to a T. Midday: Depending on the dog's energy level and weather conditions, we might go for a second walk or have playtime in the yard. I have a collection of toys (like balls and frisbees) for some fun fetch games, or we might enjoy some gentle play with tug toys indoors. If it’s hot, we might opt for some indoor fun to stay cool. Afternoon: This is a great time for our special outing! I love taking dogs to E.G. Simmons park, where we can enjoy a longer walk, explore the smells, and maybe even meet some other friendly pups (with your permission, of course). Evening: As the day winds down, we’ll take a calm stroll around the block – perfect for some light exercise before dinner. Post-dinner, I love to engage in some relaxation time. This might include gentle petting, brushing, or cuddling on the couch, depending on your dog’s comfort and preferences. Nighttime: Before bedtime, we’ll have a quick potty break to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep. Then it’s time for some well-deserved rest, and your pup can sleep in his/her favorite spot, whether it's a pet bed, crate, or any special place you've instructed. Special Activities: If your dog enjoys car rides and you're comfortable with it, we might take a short drive to a new walking spot for a change of scenery. For dogs that enjoy water, we might have a fun splash session with a garden hose in the backyard or visit a dog-friendly beach or lake (with your permission). Safety and Care: Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always ensure they are secure on walks with a well-fitted leash and harness and constantly monitor their well-being during activities. I'm also sensitive to each dog's pace and comfort, adapting activities to suit their energy levels and personality.
