Pet care experience
Hi there, I’m Julie! I have been a pet owner for 10+ years now and since starting Rover in 2020 I have taken care of over 35 different dogs and two cats. I have owned small and large dogs. I am patient and gentle with my animals which I know will translate tenfold to an animal who is not my own. I have basic understanding of commands and can become firm if necessary, especially when walking out and about/coming across other dogs on leashes. I also have high energy, which can be compatible for dogs who need long walks or quicker paced walks. At the same time, my family pup is 17 and I can take on a slower pace with more stops and breaks for those animals who need it. I know how much people love their pets and I want to be able to provide the same level of care and love when the owners are away.

Julie has been such a lifesaver for our pups! She takes them on walks when work prevents us from coming home at lunch. She makes sure to give them the exercise they need and time to go potty. She provides us with updates about how the visit went, which I find very reassuring! She is so sweet with our pups, as well as reliable ?

A typical day
As for walks, I believe in letting the pup guide the walk. I let them take their times for smells and greeting other things. The only time I would opt for redirection is for safety or to avoid things such as Cars or the street.
