We're a family that loves dogs!
Pet care experience
I've taken care of friends' dogs for years, hosting them in my home while their pet parents are away. I would love to have a small den's worth of dogs, but I am limited (by my husband) to just our 12 year old declawed cat Rockie and our 10 year old labradoodle Rutherford. The next best thing to owning a ton of dogs is caring for an occasional one or two while their parents are away. Our animals are an important part of our family dynamic, so we understand their importance to you. We love snuggles, pets, walks and play with our pets. I have a 4 year old and 6 year old who will show your pooch some love but also respect and distance, obeying your dog's boundaries. We understand a new environment can be overwhelming for your dog. Your pooch will not be in their presence without adult supervision. We can go for daily walks in our small, walkable community. When they need to go potty, we tether them outside one by one so they don't run away, but also have the freedom to do their business.
Reviews
Julie and her family were wonderful with Winnie. She gave wonderful care and she sent updates and pictures during her stay. Thank you Julie!
Julie has always been an animal lover, especially dogs. She has owned and cared for all types, from puppy thru adulthood. She is extremely compassionate, caring and responsible. Without a doubt, I would trust her completely with caring for my dog/dogs’ needs and wishes.

We have a tether for letting dogs out through out the day and plan to take a walk a day. We are working towards a fenced in yard.

Information Julie B. would like to know about your pet
Rutherford loves other dogs way too much. He can come on strong, but he is also a senior so he has slowed down a lot. Rutherford eats everything so our home is toddler proofed because of our dog. Trash is stored away, we have a child lock on our fridge and no food is left out on the counters.
A typical day
We wake up and let the pets out, feed them and the kids then get our day started. Sometimes I work on my computer and other times I have to read out to run errands. Generally the longest the pets go without seeing me is 6 hours (If I have a shift at work, which is usually just one day a week).

Availability
I work from home, so my dog rarely goes more than a few hours without seeing me. We arise at 7am to get the kids going and often let the dog out around 10 pm for the night. If another potty break is needed, no worries we are here. The majority of our home is hardwood floors, so if there is an accident it is easy to cleanup. We do allow pets on the furniture. The cat tolerates dogs, he's not playful but he does communicate his boundaries. He has no claws so your pooch will be safe.
