Julie's Small Doggy Daycare

Pet care experience

Hi! From the moment you drop off your pup chez Julie, they immediately become part of my family! :) I work from home running an online small dog boutique and only watch one dog at a time, so your dog will be sure to always have my full attention! My love for dogs began at a young age when we rescued a homeless poodle off the streets where I grew up in Montreal. I had taken a strong interest in canines ever since, and have over 6 years experience working with dogs in kennels and rescues. I’ve been on Rover for close to 7 years now dog sitting. I will be taking your pup on frequent walks throughout the day, as well as give them lots of attention, treats and cuddles. There is a medium-sized fenced in courtyard on the second floor of the building so dogs have a safe area close by to run around off leash. Living very close to the beach, dog walks along the seawall are only steps away. I only watch one dog at a time, so your fur-baby will be sure to have all my love and attention. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions in regards to my experience and background. Being a small dog owner myself, I know what it's like to feel uncomfortable leaving your baby while you're away on vacation or at work. It is my utmost priority to ensure your dog is not only safe, but enjoying their time away too :) * Please note that I cannot commit to requests 2+ months in advance.

Julie, Andrew and Bear were amazing. Yogi kept going back into Julie's home when I was picking him up. Sure sign he was happy to stay and come back whenever needed. The daily photo update and stories were appreciated. Yogi will be back :)

Julie was a super great host for our dog. She took him for long walks and to the beach, which he loved. She was very easy to communicate with as well. I would book with Julie again.

Julie is AMAZING! We feel so lucky to have met her, and will definitely be booking with her again in the future. She is calm and kind, and a great communicator as well. Further, her condo is nice and spacious and extremely close to a great dog beach and lots of outdoor spaces. Our dog, Mowdy, had a short stay with Julie (a day and a half), but got so much exercise in that short period of time, and we received 9 (yippie - nine!) photos of our pup during our time away! I wouldn't expect that many photos for such a short trip, but they sure were welcomed. Who doesn't love photos of their dog having fun!? Julie and her partner took our dog on so many walks, played with her at the beach, took her swimming, and also played fetch with her! She is so happy and tired and is currently napping the day away. We could just tell that she was super comfortable and calm in the photos Julie sent, and when we picked her up. Thanks so much for everything Julie, you're incredible!

Julie is absolutely wonderful with my dog. She's been looking after him for the last three years and is really skilled at adapting to his changing needs. He's a senior and has difficulty getting around but she is always patient and kind. I completely trust her. My dog also completely trusts her, which is saying a lot because he scared of strangers now. If you can get a booking with her your little guy or girl will be in great hands.

I always meet clients and dogs beforehand, so that they have an opportunity to meet Bear and I to ensure it’s a good fit. It is also a good opportunity for your dog to meet me and my home so they are not so scared the first time they are dropped off. My building is very secure and we have a fenced in courtyard on the second floor, so it is a safe space for the dogs to run around off leash. Bear also loves having friends around so he’s great for keeping your pup company as well!

Availability

I either work from home or at my dog-friendly office which is a 5 minute walk away from my house. I work for myself so I set my own schedule throughout the day and therefore can accommodate your dogs potty schedule and needs quite easily. I typically take the dogs out for a pee first thing in the morning when I wake up around 7-8am. I then get ready for work and will take them out for a walk around 10am. They get another walk after lunch, as well as after dinner. I will take them out for one last pee before bedtime in the courtyard around 9:30-10pm.
