Pet care experience
What do you call a dog magician? ...A labracadabror. Hi there! I've been walking dogs for neighbors in North Arlington since middle school. I have also done numerous drop-in visits for both cats and a wide variety of dogs. I have also extensive experience with my own lab, Spirit, pictured in my profile pictures, although she is not a magician :) Now that I have finished my freshman year at college, I would love to make your critter part of the rotation! I am reliable, situationally-aware, and committed to a safe AND fun experience for your pet. If interested, please feel free to reach out!
Reviews
Juliana is an excellent pet caregiver and has watched our two cats, Ollie & Trixie, when we have been out of town. She is wonderful with animals, and our cats adore her. Juliana is extremely reliable, trustworthy and conscientious -- she has housesat for us on multiple occasions as well. Can't recommend her highly enough!

Safety, trust & environment
Having a dog of my own, I recognize the great deal of trust involved in allowing someone to care for your pet. I am engaged and attentive to your cat or dog's needs, 24/7- whether that means a game of tug or just getting off "their spot" on the couch! As a dog walker in our hot Virginian summers, I keep an eye on signs of overheating and do my best to keep off the asphalt so that they won't burn your dog's paws. From adventures with my own dog, I am also very familiar with the best parks around Arlington, such as Potomac Overlook and the Fort Ethan Allen Dog Park. I will go above and beyond to accommodate your preferences or your pet's quirks, and as a sitter I keep a continuous open line of communication so that you can enjoy your time away with no worries. Your pet is in safe & capable hands!
Information Juliana S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog is reactive around other dogs or certain types of people so I can avoid situations where they are set up to fail, e.g. taking a "frustrated greeter" on a very narrow trail with 2 way traffic. I also welcome information about any obedience training (non-negative reinforcement only, please) so that I can continue to practice with your dog while you are gone. Finally, I want to know what your dog likes! Are they obsessed with tug? Do they prefer belly rubs instead? Let me know and I will make those activities a top priority :)
A typical day
For dog-walking, I am a big fan of mental stimulation coupled with physical exercise! For example, I vary walking routes. I also don't rush dogs when they are smelling things- in fact, in appropriate spaces, I often take my dog on "scent walks" by letting her follow her nose. As a sitter I have plenty of games and trainable tricks up my sleeve from playtime with my own pet, as well!

Even on the days marked "unavailable", please feel free to reach out regardless as I may be available in the evening (usually after 5). Other than that, the entirety of my schedule is fair game!
