Pet care experience
Hi! I'm a young professional with 2 rescue dogs, Sasha and Lucy, and my dog-loving kitty Sagwa. I have extensive experience with rescued and family pets, after growing up volunteering with shelters and humane societies. The past few years I was a foster mom for a rural shelter, and trained to work with reactive/traumatized animals. These skills help me support and nurture pets no matter their background! Fostering injured/disabled animals was a special passion of mine during the pandemic. I was fortunate to be able to rehabilitate 9 puppies, 2 kittens, and 2 adult dogs through quarantine! Caring for animals with complex medical issues gave me lots of practice giving medication and accommodating special needs. Now that the world's reopened, I'm loving looking after neighborhood pets. Especially those with special needs and medication requirements!

Julia took care of our dog for the first time for four days. We were able to meet beforehand to make sure everything was a good fit. From the moment we got out of the car it was clear she knows dogs. The dogs all got along great and Julia was wonderful as well! She sent multiple updates each day we were away with pictures and anecdotes. It was clear Mica had a great time, too. A great place to stay - your dog will be in good hands.
Julia boarded my two dogs for 3 nights at her house and I couldn’t have been more pleased. From the beginning, I felt comfortable leaving our babies with her. She agreed to a meet and greet about a week out so she could meet the dogs prior. Julia sent updates and pictures each day showing the great time they were having. I never had to worry the entire weekend about my dogs because I knew they were in good hands. Even my Boston terrier, who is filled with energy, had a blast and slept for 1.5 days after picking them up. I will definitely be using Julia again.
Julia and Carlos were great hosts. Both my dogs were happy and cared for at pick up. We got daily updates and photos that showed Julia and Carlos knew my dogs’ personalities. Thanks guys!
Julia was fantastic as always! She was communicative and spent a lot of time playing and giving attention to my fur baby! I would recommend her and certainly use her again. Thanks so much!

I have easy access to the T, buses, and own a car, and I'm happy to travel to care for pets. I walk Sasha and Lucy several times a day and really enjoy bringing them the park, beach, and other outdoor places, we love to bring furry friends along on our outings!

I'm happy to work with any and all dogs and cats! I like to know their temperament and preferences, and any special needs, before sitting so I can best accommodate. If they get along with other dogs I love to bring my girls along, solo walks are great too!
A typical day
I'm an outdoorsy person, and really enjoy taking the dogs to new places like the beach, dog parks, river park, everywhere! My dogs are Urban Canine Good Citizens, so I'm experienced with helping dogs navigate urban environments as well as nature. My beagle is very smart, so I own a lot of puzzle toys and snuffle mats I like to bring for dogs I pet-sit. Tricks are also a special passion of mine, I love working with my dogs to learn fun party tricks like spin and howl :) My cat is also very curious and active, so I grow catnip and catgrass for her and like to knit her pet-safe homemade toys!

Availability
Fully vaccinated and boosted, as is my partner. I work a hybrid job alternating between remote and office work in JP. My partner works fully remote, so one or both of us are always home. I have flexibility with my schedule and am happy to see if I can accommodate your needs for walks, drop-ins, and housesitting. If your pet is dog friendly, we're happy to board them in our home! We have a fenced backyard, easy access to parks and walking trails, and gate off sections of our home to get your pet safe.
