Hundepasser @ Bjølsen

Pet care experience

Greetings to all canine companions out there! We're a trio of dog enthusiasts—myself, a seasoned Labrador mom; Uma, my delightful Lab; and José, my partner. Our lives revolve around the joy that dogs bring, and we've been fortunate to grow up in a world filled with their barks and wagging tails. We're on the lookout for furry friends who would love to join Uma for some tail-wagging adventures and add an extra dose of happiness to our daily lives. Nestled in the heart of Bjølsen, with the serene Akerselva river flowing nearby, we're perfectly placed for some of the best dog-walking spots around. Voldsløkka and the lush expanses of Nordmarka are our go-to playgrounds, offering endless fun for our canine pals. Our passion for the great outdoors takes us on bi-weekly excursions into the woods encircling Oslo, where we immerse ourselves in nature's tranquility—perfect for those dogs who love to explore and sniff out new adventures. Peek at our reviews, and you'll see a common thread: our guests trust us to provide a nurturing and joyful environment. But don't just take their word for it—Uma's wagging tail and happy prance are testaments to the fantastic time and sheer fun all dogs have when they're with us. Join our pack, and let's make unforgettable memories with every play and every stroll! 🐾✨

Safety, trust & environment

When we care for pets, whether in our home or a pet owner's home, our approach to safety, trust, and the environment is paramount. Here's how we address these aspects: **Safety:** - **In Our Home:** Since we have a dog for companionship, we ensure that any additional pets are compatible with our dog to prevent any conflicts. We conduct a meet-and-greet to assess compatibility before welcoming a new pet into our home. Our apartment is thoroughly pet-proofed to prevent accidents or escape attempts, with secure windows and no hazardous items within reach. The closed courtyard in our apartment building provides a safe, enclosed space for dogs to play and relieve themselves under our close supervision. - **In a Pet Owner's Home:** We make it a point to familiarize ourselves with the pet's routine and surroundings, following the owner's instructions to the letter. We pay close attention to any specific safety measures the owner has in place and ensure that all exits are secure to prevent the pet from getting out. **Trust:** - Building trust with both the pet and the owner is essential to us. We provide regular updates and photos to the owner to demonstrate how their pet is faring. We believe in transparency about our activities and any issues that may arise. With the pet, we invest time in bonding and building a connection, respecting their space and allowing them to warm up to us in their own time. **Environment:** - **In Our Home:** We keep our environment clean and free of clutter to ensure it's comfortable and safe for all pets. The living space is organized to provide distinct areas for feeding, sleeping, and playing. We ensure that our dog is a positive, calming presence for any visiting pets. - **In a Pet Owner's Home:** We respect the owner's space by keeping it tidy and maintaining the pet's routine to reduce any stress. We make sure the pet has access to their preferred resting places and toys, maintaining a sense of familiarity. In both settings, we are diligent about the pets' needs, providing regular feeding, fresh water, playtime, and walks in the courtyard or the neighborhood, always on a leash for safety. We're also equipped with knowledge in pet first aid and emergency procedures, ensuring we're prepared to handle any situation that may arise with promptness and competence.

Let us know ahead of time if you have any preferences regarding your pet's needs, so we can tailor our care to suit their unique personality and requirements, ensuring they receive the utmost comfort and happiness while you're away.

A typical day

By being at home full-time, we have the unique opportunity to create a pet care routine that is attentive and responsive to your pets' needs, which can lead to a deeper bond and a more rewarding experience for both you and your pets. Here's how our routines might look (depending on the onboarded pet): Morning Rituals: Your day might start with pet care activities such as feeding the pets, providing fresh water, and taking them out for their first bathroom break or walk of the day. This can help set a positive tone for the day ahead. Midday Engagement: Throughout the day, to engage with your pets through playtime, training sessions, running/jogging sessions, or simply providing companionship. This is also a good time for any necessary grooming, like brushing. Exercise Routines: Daily walks or exercise sessions are an essential part of the pet's routine, ensuring your pets get the physical activity they need. This is also a great way for us to get regular exercise and fresh air. Evening Wind-Down: As the day winds down, a routine for dinner time followed by a calm period that allows your pets to relax and settle in for the night. This might include a short walk, cuddle time, or a quiet play session. Weekly Scheduling: On a weekly basis, one might have specific days for more in-depth grooming, like nail trimming or ear cleaning. We can also schedule regular vet appointments and plan any special outings or socialisation opportunities for your pets. Health Monitoring: With more time at home, we can closely monitor your pets' health, noting any changes in appetite, behaviour, or energy levels, and addressing them promptly. Socialization: If your pets enjoy social interaction, we might include visits to a dog park or arrange playdates with other pet owners, which is also a great way for us to socialize. Relaxation and Bonding: Integrating relaxation and bonding time into our daily routine is beneficial for both us and the pets. This might involve quiet time together, gentle petting, or simply sitting together in a peaceful environment. Pet-Related Errands: Our weekly routine can also include pet-related errands such as buying pet food, treats, and other supplies.
