Friendly pack with large yard
Pet care experience
My husband and I have three dogs, a 1-acre fenced yard, and plenty of room to separate animals if needed. Our dogs are not retrievers, and Mark would love to play fetch with your dog for hours! We have one small dog (Dachshund- Spaniel mix), and two 90-lb goofballs who love other dogs. But don’t worry- if there are any personality issues, we have a separate room over the garage where I can work with your dog at my feet. We are not taking any long-term, full-time bookings currently, but would love to help you out while you go out of town or need some extra support!
Reviews
We recently got our rescue dog, Kassie, and to be honest, I was afraid to leave her as I didn’t know how well she got along with other dogs or how she would do without us. I needn’t have worried! Mark and Julia suggested a meet-up prior to booking, which was very smart. They live on a beautiful property and home with an expansive, fenced back yard in the quiet, private woods. While we were away, they sent us three videos and written updates, which we found fun and reassuring. Drop off and pick up were a breeze. They are genuine dog lovers! Because they work from home, it was nice to know our Kassie girl had company all of the time. When we picked her up, she actually cried and didn’t want to leave! I couldn’t believe it. I actually felt bad for taking her home! Anyway, five out of five stars for sure and we will definitely have Kassie stay there again!
Bottom line, Julia is an overall animal lover. She's great with big and little dogs in particular. Her easy going, calm demeanor and energy puts everyone at ease. Also, she's got a pet's dream location... Your pet may enjoy their stay more than you do yours!
Julia is a dog lover! She’s always putting her K9s first making sure they are happy and healthy. I highly recommend her to watch over your fur baby!!
I have known Julia for almost 40 years. She has always been an animal lover. She currently has three dogs that are part of her family. They are so well cared for in every way. From walks, play time, and winter clothing all the way to couch snuggles, she and her husband are the best pet owners around!

We have a very large fenced yard, a separate room over the garage if there needs to be separation (where one of us would stay with your pet), and we have a large crate if needed. We can also separate dogs upstairs/downstairs if that makes sense.

Information Julia & Mark B. would like to know about your pet
How does your pet deal with other dogs? My dogs are generally friendly, but I want to know what signals to look out for. Do they need to be fed separately? How/where do they usually sleep? Are they at your feet all day, or do they curl up alone occasionally? What can they NOT eat? Do they need a sweater in cold weather?
A typical day
Morning feeding includes some topper (if approved) like a fresh egg or sardines. Then outdoor playtime- fetch, chase, or just sniffing around. Before the work day starts, there is some cuddle time on the couch. During the day there are potty breaks as needed, then dinner time and a pack walk after dinner. More evening cuddles and a treat (fresh breath) before bed. For fluffy dogs, some grooming as well.

Availability
One of us is always home, and most of the time we are both home. I work from home three days a week, but have flexibility, and my husband takes freelance work on a planned basis, so we can both be home with a couple days’ advance notice. We wake at six to feed & let the dogs go potty, and feed our chickens (separated from the dogs). We take breaks during the day to let them out to play, feed them at 6pm, and if we walk, we go for a pack walk after dinner, occasionally taking each dog separately for some quality time.
