Lover of Dogs Seeks Snuggle Buddies

Pet care experience

Hi! My name is Julia and I love dogs! I grew up with small dogs, but as an adult, I realized that the big mutts are really more my "type." I've been fostering with local rescues since 2017 and have worked with all types of breeds, sizes, ages, and behaviors. Because I don't have a dog of my own, I tend to take the "tougher" pups, but that doesn't mean I've lost my taste for the "easier" ones either. The fostering life has ups and downs, but I'm always up for some more low-key visits or pups that already have loving families (those foster pups always try to get me to keep them as my own forever!). While living in South Carolina, I was a part of a program called "Lucky Dog" that prepared shelter dogs for the domestic life. I house-trained, kennel-trained, and socialized about a dozen dogs over a 9 month span. If you think your furry friend and I would get along, please reach out! I'm available and ready to spend some time with the happiest creatures on this planet!

Julia was so amazing! Her communication was top notch. She sent lots of photos of my dog having a great time, which was comforting since this was my first time using Rover. Willow was very well taken care of, happy, and loved on during her stay. Cannot recommend Julia enough!

Julia was AMAZING with our pets!! Her check-ins and photos were gold and she was reliable, trustworthy, and loved on our animals as if they were her own. We definitely recommend her to anyone and will be requesting her help again and again!!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my number one concern. That means leashed walks, checking doors before opening them, and ensuring that your pup feels secure, both on our walks and when in my presence.

Information Julia K. would like to know about your pet

I like to know dogs' triggers, if there are any, such as bikes, skateboards, thunder, etc... I also like to know how your pup gets along with other animals, so I can be sure to avoid any non-friends on walks!

A typical day

It obviously depends on the pup, but we can either engage in mental stimulation via a fun sniffari or by doing some simple training games. I love long walks and outdoor adventures. We'll have plenty of opportunities to learn, play, and of course, if your pup is a cuddler, we will absolutely cuddle!

I currently work from home and have the flexibility to visit your pups during my lunch breaks or after I've finished my work for the day. I am occasionally still fostering, so if you need boarding in my home, please note that I may have a foster in the home. (Priority would go to your pup, if an issue arose, but let's be proactive about potential issues before it comes to that!) I'm a pro at slow intros and usually take friendly fosters. Again, not a guarantee that I'll have one, but just in case!
