Pet care experience
I've had 3 dogs over the years, one of which was a Husky mix and the other an Australia Cattledog. Both handfuls! I also nursed my sweet grumpy cat through his older years to a peaceful farewell so I have patience, empathy and love for all furry friends. I normally walk 1.5 hrs a day, and realized I could be multitasking!

Can’t recommend Julia enough as a responsible and loving pet caregiver! She connected with our dog immediately and has a gentle, but firm approach. She is attentive to our dog’s needs and a great communicator. Our dog is older now with a number of medical conditions. Julia manages all of her medications and accommodations expertly. She is a conscientious caregiver and our “go-to” pet sitter. She will quickly become part of your family!
Julia was an amazing pet sitter. When I brought my little guy Watson to Minneapolis for the first time, he had to adapt to a lot of new things. Sub zero temps, less dad time, and new sights and smells. It was a lot for one dog. But Julia was great. She really showed incredible patience, attention, and care. She made sure he was always fed, clothed on his walks and bathed to my specifications, and he didn't want to leave when we finally left. I highly recommend her.
My dog LOVES Julia. Every time she comes over he gets so excited. She will sit with him and pet him for as long as he wants or she will throw a ball or play tug with him if that's what he demands. I do not have a cat but I have seen Julia with her own cat who loved her dearly. He would curl up in her lap and start purring immediately.

I live in a spacious two story home in a safe neighborhood. I have a gate to block off the stairs if need be. I believe pet care should be tailored to the individual pet and owners needs. I'm happy to learn whatever you need to feel safe leaving your loved one in my care. If a crate is provided, I have plenty of room to either keep it in my own room or nearby. I have a yard but it is not fenced. I'm friends with a few neighbors that have dogs, so if you're interested in extra socialization, that can be arranged! Also love stimulating the minds of our furry friends, and can offer lots of playtime.

As much as I can know about any special needs or behaviors ahead of time would help us both to feel more comfortable. I like to be prepared, and that could mean putting away certain items (slippers!) Or making sure the gate is up to avoid stairs.
A typical day
There's a nice pond by me I love to walk around. I have a lot of open space in my home and genuinely get a kick out of doing scavenger hunts with pups. I get that nose sniffing and mind working! Also happy to just throw a ball around or give em a good brush while we watch TV.
