My training and caring experience has been lifelong with family dogs, but these days my life revolves around Lois. I adopted this old lady spaniel/corgi mix three years ago and despite our immediate bond, Lois was HARD TO TRAIN. She'd been stabbed and dumped by a previous owner, so came to me frightened and fear-aggressive. Our first trainers told me she would never be a normal dog. But three years later, Lois is off-leash at parties, going on kayaking trips, and winning over everyone she meets! I firmly believe that even the worst-behaved dogs will respond to consistent love and training. Anyway, I'm a grad student at UVA, and Lois has seen me through three years of a doctoral program. I'm always eager for a fun reason to get out of the house- your dog will brighten up my day as much as I do theirs!
