20 yrs “Friendfessional” Petsitter

Pet care experience

I began my stint as a “friendfessional” pet-sitter when I landed in LA more than 20 years ago. I craved a pet of my own, but work travel and apartment living were not ideal conditions for becoming a mommy, so I settled on becoming an auntie to my friends’ pets. I spent years house and cat sitting for my friends’ two cats both of whom ended up with diabetes in old age and required daily shots and medicine. Unfortunately, I am allergic to cats so I no longer care for them. My regular stints have included training and caring for puppies, as well as young and older dogs, including those with special diets, unique demeanors or medical needs. It’s important to me that I learn what your dog can and can not eat, how much exercise they need, and if they need any training. Each dog is different and I take great care in making sure I follow your lead in meeting your dog’s needs. I am always honest if it is not something I can take on. My spouse and I have loved dog sitting at our home for our friends and would welcome the opportunity to have your pet join in the fun with us! A Tribute to Patches (2013-23) I was a proud mommy to Patches for 9 1/2 years (Patches passed away unexpectedly March ‘23). Besides sleeping more, he still had his puppy qualities of wanting to play chase around the house, playing with his lovey, cuddling with me and my spouse and going on long walks. Patches loved people and other pets. He taught us so much about being present- he would always remind me when I wasn’t or when I went way over my work day and was still plugging away at the computer! And most importantly, he taught us about true unconditional love. We miss him dearly.

This was the second time Judi B has watched our Border Collie mix Jasper and once again it was a fabulous experience. He was so well taken care of while we were gone for almost 9 days. It made us feel so safe leaving him. She worked on training him some to be a better leash walker and also gave us updates that reassured us all was well. We highly recommend her services.

Judy is fantastic. Our dog is so picky at eating and often won’t eat when stressed, especially if he is staying with others. But Judy has created an environment where he feels right at home and eats better than he sometimes does at home. We are so grateful!

Polo loves being at Judy’s home and we feel relieved to have found someone who cares for him like we do.

Judy was a godsend dog sitter and we were so lucky to have her help for our wedding as she went above and beyond to coordinate in bringing our dog to the wedding!!! She was so easy to work with and communicated with us seamlessly. Thank you for being flexible and taking such good care of our dog, keeping her happy through out the weekend and bringing out her on lots of walks.

Safety, trust & environment

I will typically only pet sit for one dog at a time so your dog’s needs remains my priority. While dogs aren’t allowed on my bed, I have a large cozy bed that is washed after every dog visit. I am comfortable with both large and small dogs, and I can assist with giving medications or other care as needed. I prefer doing a meet and greet prior to booking with any new client. I also only accept dogs who are spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all shots.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs, including medication, how he interacts with children, adults and other dogs. I have a lot of experience caring for skittish dogs and keeping them calm.
