Pet care experience
I'm Juan and I recently moved to the UK. The buddy in the photo is Congo, a 3-year-old Doberman living in Colombia. Unfortunately, he's under my family's care as he wasn't able to enter the UK due to breed restrictions. Congo is my partner in crime and the best life teacher I could have ever asked for: not only because I acquired the skills to train and take care of a “potentially dangerous” and HUGE dog, but also because there's a lot we can learn from our pets, their humility, resilience and unconditional love, to become better humans.

Juan Sebastian is a friend of mine and he has taking care of dogs and had one of his own. He is passionate, responsible and a loving caregiver. He likes to take long walks and play with the dogs and also teaching them some new tricks.
I’m beyond grateful for the love and care that Juan Sebastian gave my little boy Congo. I wouldn't hesitate to put my entire world back on his charge. He took him to the park to play with other puppies, he consulted with me about the treats that he bought for him (by his own intention), he constantly sent me photos and even let him sleep on his bed right beside him. Thanks Juan Sebastian you became my number one caregiver and consequently that of my family and friends!

It's really important that the dog feels at home, regardless of the space, but it's more important that it understand the boundaries, not only for your mental health but also for their safety and comfort. I have a dedicated space (living room) to make them feel as in their bedroom. Pee and poo ALWAYS out of the flat, but I understand that while learning, paths are necessary :)

Availability
After spending most of my time with this “horse” at home during a pandemic, I learned to adapt my work-life balance to fulfil Congo’s needs and expectations. Being able to work remotely allows you to spend more time outdoors with your furry friend, reducing their anxiety and increasing their happiness. It's a win-win situation as you can also take advantage of active pauses while spending time with your dog, and nowadays technology allows us to connect and collaborate while working, just using our mobile phones. Let's be honest, at the end of the day, dogs just wanna have fun.
