Fit Dog Dad!

Pet care experience

Dog father since the age of 10! Personal trainer by day. Love taking dogs on runs on the Beltline (90% of the reason that I moved here) Which is just a block or two away! I’m self employed so I’m very flexible and able to tend to your pets many needs. My clients are mainly remote so I can have my eyes on your baby as all times if need be. I’m a very active person so I’d love if your dog enjoys the outdoors, long walks or short runs. Even if I have to carry him or her 😁. I do have a cool dog carrying bag that I put smaller dogs into if they get too tired but would love them to enjoy the outdoors. I live in a luxury secured appt for safety. We have a cute pet washing station as well! Which I love to do! Also have a safe, fenced dog park in my building. I have a bunch of dog toys here so your baby can play and enjoy him or herself.

Juan was great with our pup Stevie and was so accommodating to watch her on short notice! He kept us updated and sent plenty of pics on their walks. We will definitely be booking with Juan again 😊

I was thankful that Juan offered to watch Bubu at the last minute. I'm not sure how bad Bubu was, but he can be a little sh#t sometimes.

We love Juan! He takes such good care of Bodie and sends great updates. He’s super easy with scheduling and communication. Would highly recommend him :)

I’m conflicted writing this review because Juan seems like a lovely person with a kind heart. He watched my lab for 5 days over Christmas - at a time when I needed a last minute pet sitter, so I really appreciate his availability. He seems to love caring for animals, and he even gave my dog a toy for Christmas which is very sweet. But, there were a couple things that felt off. Juan was 15+ minutes late for our drop-off and pick-up times. The communication was spotty - I’d asked him to send updates and photos and there were a couple days when I didn’t hear from him at all. He seemed to mix me and my dog up with another customer - he called me by the wrong name multiple times, and returned my dog with the wrong bag of food. He’d mentioned that he was only watching my dog and his own dog, so I was confused why a random bag of dog food was returned with my dog. Finally, my dog seemed very dehydrated when she got home. She gulped down 4 full bowls of water as soon as she got home - which is concerning and extremely out of character for her. I wish Juan success, and it seems like others have had great experiences working with him. But I'm writing this review because these are things I would have wanted to know before booking.

Well in my home I like to keep things very routine orientated for them. So much change as it is boarding that I want them to feel like they are at home as well. If I'm house sitting I like a list for things I should follow and the walkable local coffee shop for our morning walks :).

Information Juan C. would like to know about your pet

For me it's routine, structure, things that make them happy and things to look into that make them really sad. I really want to know how best I can emulate what they have at home in my care. I found myself seeing the pups enjoy themself more when I was made aware of such things. I feel like my home is a vacation for them lol. So if play time, walks, even baths (I have an amazing doggy spa in my apartment) is something they look forward too. I want to give them that experience.

A typical day

Well for starters I specifically choose my apartment due to the beltline and wanting a pup of my own :). My dogs whole live has been socializing, walking for miles at times on the beltline night or day. The safety is amazing and that was I really prioritized coming from Minneapolis.

Availability

Pet care for me is pretty easy and honestly really something I look forward too. I'm constantly in the gym yet in between clients. It's my time to enjoy some quality time with my pup. I'm very much an outdoors type of person so when I'm hungry usually a walkable patio with my little guy is my go to.
