Pet care experience
I would love to have the opportunity to provide lots of love and attention to some wonderful pets. I have experience dog and cat sitting, handling all kinds of personalities, sizes, and ages. I am very experienced with rescue animals in particular, and have worked with a variety of behaviours and histories. I also have three rescues, two dogs and a cat. I'm currently a graduate student at UNBC and have relocated to PG, so I am still learning the area. I have a very flexible schedule, with my only obligation being classes on weeknight evenings. As my current residence doesn't allow pets, I would love the opportunity to care for your furry family members in the comfort of their own home. For the next couple weeks I do not have a vehicle and am limited in the areas I can get to, but as of mid-March I will have a vehicle and be able to expand my service area and even be able to take your pup on some outdoor adventures! No matter what, I can guarantee that your pet will get the affection and attention they deserve!

I focus on meeting the dog or cat where they are at. If they are nervous, I will give them space to get comfortable. If they demand cuddles, I can definitely provide that too! I like to communicate with the pet's family as much as possible to get the best idea of how I can make your pet feel safe and comfortable.

I value honestly in communication. If your dog is reactive, for example, please tell me in advance. It won't scare me away, but give me the best tools to be prepared for providing the care your dog needs and what would cause the least stress. Behavioural concerns, commands used (e.g. "touch" vs "here"), personality type, energy levels are all valuable to know. Setting clear expectations is key.
A typical day
I am big on mental stimulation! Puzzle toys, food games, practicing tricks and training are all ways I can accomplish this. We can go for walks or play active games like fetch to get their energy out as well. And of course, unlimited pats!

Availability
My only obligations are Mon-Thurs evenings (5pm-9pm). I am quite flexible on weekends and weekdays and I can sometimes accommodate late notice requests as well.
