I am very attentive to your pet's needs and will do my best to keep them happy and healthy. Most dogs have little behavior quirks, like carrying their food bowls around before dinner time, separation anxiety, or barking at the UPS driver. The more I can learn about their behaviors, the easier it will be for me to prepare for them. During my stay or visit, you can expect a daily photo or video update so you can be assured that your pet is staying active and having fun! In the rare event that medical attention is needed, I am familiar with the local veterinarians and can get help quickly (I am very resourceful). I adhere to any special dietary needs your pets may have and can administer meds as needed (including shots). If staying in your home, I am very respectful of your space and you will come home to a clean and tidy environment (leave no trace).

If there are any known triggers that can be avoided during their care, please let me know (i.e. bigger dogs, smaller dogs, certain breeds, fireworks, etc.). If your pet has been trained with specific commands, it is helpful to know what those are for consistency. Thank you!
A typical day
I can accommodate playtime in the park, hikes, car rides, and active games of fetch or frisbee. Also, I often do doggy daycare with multiple dogs on our family property which has a small creek and acres of green grass for free range play. Your dogs will come home tired and happy!

Your pets will be in good hands. I was a 4-H kid and grew up on a mini-farm in the Northern California redwoods. We raised a variety of animals for show and as family pets. I cared for many of the neighbor's pets as well including dogs, cats, horses, sheep, pigs, bunny rabbits, and the occasional goldfish! I am a bit of a dog-whisperer too and can get even the most unruly of beasts to settle down. I enjoy taking dogs on long walks or hikes and have experience caring for puppies and senior dogs as well. I am more than just an animal lover, I'm reliable and in tune with your pet's needs, and show every pet the same level of care that they get from you. Before my stay, I will verify that your pet's care instructions are understood including current vet information, an emergency contact who can make decisions for your pet while you are away, and other important care information, such as feeding instructions, potty breaks, methods used to reward or correct behavior, and exercise schedule.

Joy is absolutely wonderful, and her beautiful homestead in the Sierras is a calm, serene oasis. Our pup, Riley has separation anxiety, so we were previously apprehensive to leave him w/ a sitter. But as soon as we met Joy and spent a little time at her place, we had total peace of mind leaving him with her - she is very caring, kind and understands dogs. Riley had a great time, zooming around the fenced in yard, playing in the creek and enjoying doggie companions. Highly recommend… I’d stay there if Joy took in humans!
Joy was fabulous with our dog!!! I was a little nervous as he wants to be with “his” people but he absolutely LOVED her and her space. He was comfortable with her very quickly. Her property was just perfect for him to explore and roam. She kept me updated and sent amazing photos of him living his best life! Thank you.
Sky had a great day with Joy! She sent photos and updates throughout the day, which we really appreciated. Communication was super easy and she was quick to respond whenever we reached out. She was also very flexible with timing, which made things much easier for us. Most importantly, Sky clearly loved spending time with her. We’d definitely book with Joy again!
Benji had a lovely time with Joy. Joy is vey sweet and offers pick up and drop off that made it easy for us. We definitely recommend her and will contact her again in the future!
