Pet care experience
**Out of town guests: my home is in the Sequoia National Forest & Sierra Nevada Mountain area** Finding a trustworthy business to care for your fur babies is hard - I get it. That’s why I started my boarding business in addition to already training service animals. When it came time for me to find a reliable person to watch my animals, here’s what I saw: - non animal lovers just trying to make extra $$ - Animal lovers with little to no experience - Pet boarding and hotels that were more like prisons - Poorly pet-proofed facilities and homes that threatened my babies’ health and safety I knew my family deserved better, and yours does too. Prior to moving my business to Rover, I grew up with primarily large working dogs who are known for their high spirit and strong sass, which has given me the skills needed in handling any breed or behavior with kindness and understanding. I have over 15 years of experience working with and training service dogs, cats, and horses in my previous career of ranch animal-assisted therapy. Combined with my training and background in holistic nutrition, rescues, and rehabilitation, my home is a safe, calm getaway in which all guests become family. Questions? Send me a message! Please note: dog walking will always include some level of training. If you need help starting leash training (dog currently does not successfully walk on leash) training packages are available. I am able to provide: training, nutritional recommendations, probiotics, digestive enzymes, grain-free food, anal gland cleaning, and nail clipping at additional costs. Ask for a quote.
Reviews
It was my first time using Rover and I was a bit nervous, but we had a great experience with Joy. Léon had an amazing time at Joy’s place - and I know that because he usually gets sick when staying at daycare, but this time he didn’t. He was happy and full of energy when we picked him up. Joy kept sending us photos and videos and updates when we were visiting Sequoia National Park. There was no signal inside the park but it was such a relief to see all the photos and videos when we got out of the park. If you’re planning to visit Sequoia and looking for a reliable person to take care of your dog, I highly recommend Joy.
We had a really good experience leaving our 3 year old Lab mix with Joy as we explored the Sequoias. Had a great pre-drop off call with Joy and felt comfortable with the care she would provide. She sent us numerous photos and videos throughout the 3 days which put us at ease. Our dog got along great with her dog Pepper. Would definitely book again if we’re in the area.
Joy looked after Vivian on two days when we visited the National Parks. Vivian had a lovely time with her and Pepper. Thank you so much!
Joy is great. I recommend her to anyone who needs someone to watch their pet. I would definitely leave my puppy with her again. I felt comfortable leaving my dog for the weekend. I loved that she would send me pictures and videos of how my dog was doing.

Initial interviews are conducted to ensure that any potential new guests will have safe and/or manageable behavior. Dangerous behaviors are not accepted. If your animal has a history of attacks (unprovoked aggression with no physical warning) this a sign of serious mental and possibly physical health issues and MUST be addressed by a professional. If you are struggling with and/or are to the point of being afraid of your animal, ask me about about a training consult.
