I’ve been fostering and/or owning dogs and cats for probably 90% of my life -dogs and cats with all sorts of needs and personalities. I definitely transitioned over from a cat person to a dog person - but it’s still 55/45. I understand when dog or cat owners have “big” requests. No request is too great for a fur baby. When I take care of pets in other people’s homes, my fur babies stay at my home with my family. If a dog family wanted my dog to join me, then we could discuss that. At the moment, I cannot care for dogs that need to be walked and do a lot of pulling. Minimal pulling is totally fine - I can always be ready for the occasional squirrel chase or anxious moment! I had a flare up from a past injury from an untrained dog and need to not be continuously pulled on walks.

For those wanting to board your dog: Our senior pup is the calmest, kindest pup you will ever meet- but there are certain breeds he just doesn't love. He wouldn't hurt another dog but since he's old we'd like him to feel extra comfy in his home. Most of the time I know who he'd feel okay having over by the pictures/breed/description, but I am also always happy with meeting beforehand to make sure it's a good fit.
A typical day
Because I work from home, I’m able to get good cuddles or give physical attention to in whatever creature I’m looking after- and since I’m generally in front of my computer I need to get outside and walk myself as well. I have a senior dog that doesn't go on long walks anymore, but I still do...

Availability
I work 10-20 hours per week from home or anywhere with a flexible schedule- so I am flexible if a rigorous schedule is needed. I have a toddler who is well-behaved and also an animal lover- if I am house sitting she stays at home with her dad (or stops by during the day if it’s allowed).
