Pet care experience
I have worked for two professional pet service companies for years, and also walk and care for my neighbors' dogs when needed. Prior to that, I spent my working days in the office at the State Department's International Program as a translator. When the translation team was disbanded and I got laid off, I started to walk friends' and neighbors' dogs. I got high praises and that's how I became a professional dog walker and realized how much I loved it spending my hours outdoors with those loving and trusting dogs! It felt like I become a dog when I am with them as I take such a delight in them. I enjoy the experience thoroughly and the dogs love me back! My employers call me "power walker," and I was awarded as "walker of the month". Clients call me "loving, honest, conscientious, dependable, trustworthy," and not the least, "joyful". Giving the pets exercise they need and seeing them happy running is my true calling! Due to high demand, I sometimes accept 2 (small to medium) dogs to board with me if I know at least one dog well and with the consent of the owners. Otherwise I normally just board one dog at a time.
Reviews
Joy was wonderful and provided lots of pictures and updates over the weekend. She was able to socialize our dog with others on walks. We would love to have her dog sit again!
Joy was wonderful with our nervous pup. She sent lots of pictures and updates.
Joy was wonderful in caring for Molly, our three year old Labradoodle. Daily photos and updates, load of walks, and TLC. We plan on having Molly visit Joy wherever we are out of town.
Joy really takes care of my older dogs. She cares to understand their personalities and behaviors and is very careful with the proper dosing of medications. She is very conscientious. It's hard to find someone who really cares for older pets in this way. I appreciate her very much.

I have an unfenced backyard and when the weather is good I like to stay out with doggie. I use a long leash to keep the doggie close to me and never leave them outside unleashed and unsupervised. I also keep them from other dogs unless I know them well.

Information Joy J C. would like to know about your pet
How much and how often does the pet eat, go outside, go to the toilet? Does the pet have a lot of energy and need power walk? Is there anything the pet is scared of or reacts to? What to do in an emergency situation? Where are the cleaning materials in case the pet makes a mess? How to secure all the entrances of the house?
A typical day
Though I am called a power walker, I let a dog give me indication if they are more inclined to power walk (the highly energetic ones) or just walk, or stroll, or sniff and explore (the more senior ones, or ones not in good health). I like to play with them, such as chasing sticks or balls, or huddle with them on the couch, or at my feet while I read. I enjoy exploring my surroundings as a dog does and take them on different routes but avoid the traffic heavy ones. Simply put, I become a dog and his/her friend when I am with one! A bit about dog sitting or dog boarding. I accept one, or no more than two dogs at a time, unless it's for owners who has more than one dog. When they are in my care, I give them three regular walks daily plus frequent bathroom breaks, so your pets get excercise they need.

Availability
Other than 2 to 3 dogs I currently walk daily from late morning to early afternoon, I’m full time home so I have plenty of time to walk and play with the pups who board with me. When dog sitting at owners’ home, I come home in mid morning to do my daily walks and have lunch, then I go back to the owners house to be with the pups mid afternoon till next day.
