I've had 3 dogs that I have helped taken care of, walk, and bathe. I have also pet-sat (i.e. walking, feeding, and spending time with the dogs) throughout senior year of college.

With my own dogs and dogs I have sat for, I always keep the leash close to me in case of emergencies (i.e. car driving by) and/or for safety of other dogs walking near us. Happy to clean up after your dog and put them back in their designated area in your backyard when walk is completed!
