Hello! My name is Josie and I am seeking to form personal and long-lasting relationships with new clients and their pets. I have half-a-decade of experience working hands on with dogs, primarily in doggie daycares and at the Idaho Humane Society. I currently work for a boutique pet supply store and assist with pet nutrition counseling. I assisted in evaluating canine temperaments for several years and monitoring dog play groups, which has made me comfortable and confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages and temperaments. Seniors and puppies are welcome! I also have two well-socialized and active dogs who would make great playmates and hiking buddies for younger, active dogs. I am comfortable providing gentle guidance and correction for naughty behavior and can assist you in making your dog more manageable at home. Josie was fantastic! I was a little nervous leaving my dog Luke behind for a long weekend after just having moved. And also not having met Josie before. Luke got to hang with her pup and go on plenty of long walks. Josie sent me updates and pictures all weekend long so I knew he was doing ok. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. You won't regret it!
Josie was so wonderful!! She was very flexible with my schedule being able to drop in later at night (what's best for the pup).My dog has separation anxiety and she really cared and took time to spend with her. She also offered calming techniques that I may try. Pictures were sent so I knew everything was ok. I loved that she had previous experience with larger dogs and had no problem handling my great Dane on the meet and greet. Finding a sitter you can count on can be difficult and she is irreplaceable to me.

Please let me know your dogs' "likes" and "dislikes". Are they good with other dogs? Are they uncomfortable around children, crowds of people or strangers? I mainly walk my two dogs off leash on Boise foothills hiking trails, so please let me know in advance if you prefer an on-leash or off-leash walk for your dog. Lastly, please let me know if your dog has any food sensitivities or allergies.
A typical day
I do it all - fetch, hikes in the foothills, swimming, walks downtown, trips to the dog park, bike riding, and more! If your dog is well socialized and friendly with other pups, I would love to have them come over for a romp and wrestling match with my dogs! If your dog prefers a solo walk without contact with other animals or short, neighborhood walks, I would love to do that as well. If discussed in person, I can also provide guidance on teaching your dog basic commands and improving leash manners.
