I grew up with dogs. I love dogs. I live in an apartment that does not allow dogs, otherwise I'd have my own and/or offer up the place for dogsitting here. While that is out, I do have a work-from home job that would make it easy to take laptop there (esp. if you don't mind sharing the wifi password) to housesit & dogsit, allowing for adequate breaks, attention and walks as needed. If closeby, I'd probably still drive back to my bed to sleep so overnight would be the longest stretch - but if you have a bed you don't mind being used, overnight stays are definitely a possiblity so long as I know to pack a bit more with me. With scheduling, drop-ins and walks are also possible. I don't have special training so special needs dogs may be better with someone else, but I am willing to try so long as I know the protocols. I do have a horrible gag reflex though, so any that require special cleaning might be tough for me to stomach (though I realize any dog can act out when their owner leaves and will clean up if needed). Aside from some time on the laptop, it'd be great to play some tug-of-war, fetch etc. and perhaps give scritches sitting in front of the TV. However, I am allergic to cats, so cat free or hypoallergenic homes are preferred for stays. I do love them too but unfortunately my lungs don't agree. Still, I look forward to some quality dog time.
