Hello! My name is Josh Taylor I’m the owner of Canine Education in the West Island of Montreal. I have been dog training for 18 years now and have a podcast and tons of experience as a science based dog trainer. Everything I do is positive reinforcement. I’ve been getting into boarding a little more instead of private training to be at home more with my children. A big perk with me is I will also work on the problems (if any) that you have been having while you’re away and I’m watching your furry munchkin. It’s always important that the owner of the one doing the training but it’s a great compliment to continue the training while you’re gone. This way when you get your dog back the things you have been doing are still there and not temporarily lost for a few days or even weeks when you come back.

Cocoa had such a great time with Joshua and his family! I definitely recommend and would book again. He took great care and attention to her and provided great feedback, all the while keeping us updated with pictures and videos.

I have been doing this for a very long time, I can administer meds, and I am very knowledgeable. I have a on suite in my house where my basement is completely open, a whole level just for the dogs. I also have a room for dogs who are not as friendly and want me to work on any anxiety or aggression issues. I do A LOT of walking as I have a fenced in patio but my yard is not fenced in for the moment.

A typical day
We love taking walks to burn that energy, as I always say a calm down is a happy pet parent! Stimulation through games during feeding times, exposure and socialization in a controlled way. I also focus on some of the problems or continuing the training you have already been doing with your furry friend.

I dog train full time. I have clients throughout the day and my wife works from home. I make sure I have tons of gaps between my customers so I can come home and work and take care of your dog. When I have a good amount of time before I know I’m watching a dog I try to schedule myself where my private clients are spread out more so I’m home more. (This is a transition I’m making to do this more then driving client to client. - So my end goal is to eventually stay at home and focus on this) After 18 years of going home to home, and running a dog training studio in the pointe claire village I want to pivot and change how I do things where I have a bit more of a work life balance and I’m able to be at home more still in my craft but also around my kids.
