Hey there, I'm Joshua. After saying goodbye to my dog Kaya, I'm offering my home to other dogs that want a happy, safe and exciting place to visit. I have a strong background in animal health, nutrition and care, including years of experience with training and agility. I also have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, dogs with medical needs, and dogs that are intact (a rarity on Rover). I have a combined 21 years of experience with animals since childhood. Having used Rover for years with my own dog, I've had both great and awful experiences - I know how negligent some of the providers here can be: I will not be one of them. You'll get regular daily updates and photos while you are away. I will always do my best to get back with you promptly whenever you reach out. If I have a question I will ask it, no matter how small. I want to give the same care, attention and interaction for your dog as I would demand for my own. Alfie absolutely loved his stay with Josh and we loved the regular updates and photos. Josh was incredibly responsive was accommodating to all of Alfies quirks and needs. In addition, Alfie can home exhausted from all the regular excercise and walks. We will definitely board with Josh again!
Joshua took great care of our puppy Taco. He was very attentive to all of Taco’s needs and kept us updated throughout the stay. He was even able to keep up with all of Taco’s energy! Although Taco had a couple accidents, Joshua was able to take care of them in such timely and professional matter. Overall, I was completely satisfied with Joshua’s service, and I’m sure Taco can’t wait to stay with him again in the future.
Joshua was communicative, kind, and great for Ruby. I appreciate that Joshua wanted to meet Ruby prior to her staying with him for a whole weekend, additionally he assessed compatibility between another dog and Ruby prior to accepting both of them at the same time. I felt he was extremely considerate of her needs, gave me daily updates without having to ask and Ruby was extremely happy upon pick up, playful with Joshua and affectionate. I just know she felt at home and comfortable with her stay, because she can be quite shy and timid at times. 10/10 would book again! Thank you for taking care of my girl!
Joshua was great with our big, oaf of a pitbull/american bulldog mix. A lot of folks are scared of the breed, but Joshua wasn’t— he treated our big guy like a good friend. He is also very informed on dog stuff, so he never walks in blindly.

Your dog will be given free roam of my house, as well as full use of the large back yard on a leash or extended lead (only with me supervising). I can provide multiple dog beds throughout the home. I believe in feeding animals a human grade diet, and have extensive experience with feeding both cooked and raw if you feed that way. Your dog will also only be given purified water (the same as I drink) and the highest quality real animal treats.

A typical day
I will change the day up based on your dog's age and needs. I'm very active and spend a lot of time outdoors, so if your dog needs more vigorous activity you're covered! I love going for runs, hikes, playing fetch and frisbee, swims, etc. - just let me know what is best. I also enjoy training games and mentally stimulating games such as nose work (particularly if your dog is less active). Or if your dog is a lounger and just wants to rest, they will be well accommodated.

Availability
I work from home primarily, and have a house with a very large back yard that is mostly fenced. There is grass and lots of trees. I occasionally have to leave my house during the day but it will never be for an extended amount of time. Your dog will receive frequent attention, play, bathroom breaks, and walks (I live walking distance to some very nice trails).
