Professional Pet Carer from Moseley

Pet care experience

I have always loved looking after dogs and cats for my friends and family when they are away, and I decided to enter full time pet-care as a profession in 2023. I have a diploma in Pet Sitting & Dog Walking, along with training in pet first-aid. I also have a clean DBS record. I have my own dog bowls, poo bags, dog treats and blankets, so you won't need to worry about providing those when booking boarding services.

Josh was great with Kenzo. He patiently heard & understood Little Kenzo’s needs. We had left Kenzo with Josh for a day and we had no problems at all . I really appreciate Josh laminating Kenzo’s do list as well . Thank you for taking such good care of little kenzo . We will be definitely re booking with you 🙂

Josh provided and absolutely amazing service from pre meets through to collection and accomadated us fairly short notice for a close family funeral 200 miles away . He sent messages and photos daily to let us know Alfie was ok, walked and settled. This really put my mind at rest during such an anxious time, as alfie had never stayed there and it was the longest we had ever left him. They looked like they loved each other that much we felt guilty taking him back . We will definately be using josh again to look after alfie .

I left my boy Toby with Josh today for the first time. Toby has never spent time in someone else's home before but Josh has been fantastic with him. Very relaxed and accommodating. I had absolutely no worries leaving him there. Josh has a very warm and calm nature which works well if you feel your dog may be anxious. Toby appeared to have had a great time and ended up sitting on Josh's lap (much to my surprise!). He sent me photos through the day to ease my mind which was very much appreciated. Whether it be for walks, doggy daycare or boarding, I would highly recommend you give Josh a call.

Safety, trust & environment

For boarding services, I have a large fenced garden which is great for letting your pet out for the loo and to run around in, which I do every 3 hours or so. I also have a choice of three parks within a close walking distance from my property. I do not currently have any pets of my own, so 100% of my love and attention will be focused on your pet! When out dog walking, I always carry a whistle, bright torch and spring loaded umbrella (physical barrier) as safety measures to prevent and break up scraps between dogs. I also wear a hi-vis jacket, and carry with me at all times: Pet First Aid kit; towel (to use as a stretcher); spare lead; spare muzzle; spare poo bags, and a few other essential items for dog walking. It also helps that I live next door to my mother, so in the unlikely event of an emergency situation, I can leave a pet in her care if I need to.

Information Josh T. would like to know about your pet

Prior to your first booking I request a small amount of paper work be filled out to highlight things such as behavior issues, dietary requirements, walking habits, medication specifications, Vet info and a few other bits and pieces. While boarding, if your pet is nervous or doesn't behave well when out walking then I can cater for garden exercise instead, and I can give them as much exercise as you need me to. I will not cater for pets that are not toilet trained; dogs that are likely to bark loudly and often at night (my neighbors are very fussy about noise levels), or pets that have fleas or any infectious ailments. Your dog will need to be OK with being left alone for up to three hours a day while I cater to other dog walking commitments. Note that the blankets that I own will be washed after each pet-visit. I also make sure my flat is dog-proof prior to the boarding service (bins freshly changed, nothing hazardous lying around for them to swallow, etc).

A typical day

I have a choice of three large parks within a 10 minute walking distance from my property. I love to play tug of war / fetch games with dogs, and I have a big enough garden to cater for it if they do not behave well outdoors. I love to use dog walking as exercise for myself, and I'll make sure that your dogs (awell as myself) gets enough exercise to tire them out for the day. I allow dogs on the furniture, but I do not normally let them into my bed at night unless they are nervous and are not comfortable being left alone at night; I don't mind making exceptions (your pets happiness and well-being is my main concern above all else). I will only board one pet at a time.

Availability

I have a flexible schedule, and can work around the needs of my potential clients. I currently work approx two days a week on a 0-Hour contract as a fork lift driver, but this is a secondary priority and my pet care profession always comes first. I also spend a few days a week when I can doing voluntary work in a dog shelter. I currently do not drive a vehicle; I get around on an E-Scooter, and can cater to a 5 mile radius from Moseley. For boarding services, you will be required to drop your pet off at my flat.
