Hello! My name is Jojo. I am 27 years old and I am from the Carlsbad area. I am an animal lover and have had a lot of experience with pets, specifically dogs and cats, while growing up. I have been taking care of my pets since the day I can remember and have always enjoyed the company of animals. I know a lot of the basic pet care techniques, including grooming, feeding, and making sure they get enough exercise. Though I have owned cats in the past, I have owned many dogs ranging from 5-pound Havanese puppies to 65-pound labradors. While attending college in Northern California, I interned at an animal shelter where I was given an amazing opportunity to take care of a variety of dog breeds, a majority of them being Pitbulls. While interning, I exercised the dogs daily with both walks and toys. Additionally, I performed confidence building techniques with each dog I was assigned to while implementing a training clicker. Furthermore, I completed online behavioral assessments which tested my knowledge on specific behaviors that many rescued dogs exhibit at the shelter. Though I have done dog and cat-sitting, I do have experience with taking care of bunnies, birds, and other small pets as well. Prior to my current job as a counselor, I worked at a dog-supply store where pet owners and their dogs (and very rarely, their cats) came in to purchase food, treats, and other important premium supplies for their furry companions. I was constantly surrounded by dogs on a daily basis and truly enjoyed spending time with others’ pets just as much as my own.
