Pet care experience
Hey there, my name is Joselyn and I've been working with dogs and cats since 2009. In high school I did a course working with animals and graduated with a certificate in animal care. After that I started my journey in working at west hills animal hospital being a guest attendant, helping the vet in the examination room as well as working in the boarding area. I did that for about a year almost 2 until I relocated to another state. I than worked at another vet hospital while I was living in California. There I had the whole kennel to myself and had my personal one on one with each guest that stayed for the day or a few days stay. I was in charge of walking, feeding, making sure kennels were clean as well as bathing the pets if requested by owner. Working in the veterinary hospital field I also learned to properly give medication to the pets who had to take them. In 2017 I found my new calling in the animal field when I started working at a grooming shop. There I learned even more about pet temperament, reading body language and really feeling out what the pet was going through (some really enjoyed being groomed some didn't) I also learned great technics in really getting your pup looking fresh and squiky clean.

Joselyn was always very caring with all the dogs and cats at the vet hospital she did everything I asked her to do that’s where we became friends I was her boss she gave 150% she treated those animals like they were her own she walked those dogs every hour even though at the vet they weren’t supposed to go out that often she did it on her own without asking and that was good she cared she even picked the one up and cared the pit out side when he was Paralyzed and he couldn’t get up on a his own his owners didn’t bring him a wheelchair so we sort of made him one out of stuff that we had at work so we could use it while he was there that’s how much she cared she was the best kennel person that we ever had I hated to see her go. She also offered to come to my house while I had surgery and watch my zoo she is a giving and loving person. She once helped a old man catch his dog he let get loose leaving the vet she saved the dog before it was hit by a truck on our busy street. I would always trust her with my zoo when I’m not here to care for them …….Jackie J

In the past while living out of state. Some clients at the grooming shop I worked at needed a pet sitter. One client in particular was an older couple Who had 2 Maltese that were regulars to the grooming shop that I worked. I build a good relationship with the owners and watched their pups in my home. When having the pets in my care, I always treat them as if they were my babies. In the same token I follow through with what the owner wanted and needed for their furbaby. I provide as much attention as needed as well as getting a good amount of time with exercise and play. I do hope you choose me to care for your pet in whatever needs it may be ❤️

I've had plenty of experience with all temperaments of dogs. As well as cats. I have not had much experience with special needs pets but with proper guidelines and steps on how your pet needs to be cared for, I'm more than willing to learn grow and take excellent care of those needs.
A typical day
I love to hang outside on a nice day. Maybe chase the ball around or have a run around in the back yard. Long walks are not only great way to let out some energy but fun to explore new sights and smells. We'd also enjoy curling up on the couch and getting nice pets and tons of attention. Or if your pup is more laid back, hanging in each other space and enjoying the company is always great too!

I currently work at the pet salon here in commack. I work 2 to 3 days a week. Saturdays being my main day. So I would love to be able to take the free time I have to work more with your lovable pets.
