I have had constant contact with dogs (and cats) since I was born. Not only did my family keep a full house of rescues at all times, but my grandmother actually founded an organization called FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters). I learned a lot from her, especially how important walks are for dogs! At any given point she had over five dogs, each being cared for at the highest degree. These dogs were usually those that had a hard time getting adopted - blind, three legs, didn’t get along well with others, and abused. But she taught me that every dog needed love and care, which gave me the amazing experience of seeing dogs with little hope blossom into the dogs they were always meant to be. Not only do I get along with most dogs but I also know how to handle those that are skittish, nip, and seem intimidating. I have trained two puppies previously, mostly simple commands like “sit” and “come”. I also know how to properly bathe dogs (and cats).
