Mother of Greyhounds welcomes you!
Pet care experience
Roaching, rooing, and zoomies - oh my! Leave your Greyhound or other sighthound with me, and they will be happily doing all three in a loving home with 18 years of Greyhound experience. Upon arrival, your best friend will be greeted with the wet nose and wagging tail of our Greyhound welcoming committee: Skylar. Your fur babies will be guided on leash through the house to make them (and you) comfortable, showing them their feeding stations and all of their bedding choices for a luxurious and restful night's sleep, and as many naps as they care to take. Out to the fenced yard via a gently sloped pet ramp (that's heated in winter weather), they'll find a large, secure fenced yard that's well-lit in the evening. I have a Canine and Feline CPR and First Aid certification through Pet Emergency Education. In addition, I’d like to share that my husband is a pilot. We have combined our passions of rescue and flying by participating in the Pilots and Paws program, where general aviation pilots volunteer to transport shelter pets to other areas of the country where there’s interest in adopting them. We love all animals, not just Greyhounds.
Reviews
I have two special needs greyhounds that were very difficult to find a sitter for despite being the little loves of my life. Danno has severe anxiety and Soulie was mentally handicapped from a seizure. Jordena regularly stepped up to watch them both even though no one else ever watched them twice—even their former foster parents. Danno and Soulie loved going to their Auntie Jordena’s house and were very comfortable there. Danno is very judgmental and doesn’t just let anyone pet him. He lets Jordena HUG him! I had peace of mind knowing my dogs were loved and just as spoiled as if they were with me. I would drive the almost 5 hours one way to have her watch my dogs to this day.
Jordena is one of the most caring, responsible and loving dog owners I have the pleasure to know. She has been an active participant in greyhound rescue, coupled with fostering many over the years. She would be a wonderful dog sitter. Best, Sharon L.
Jordena is an excellent pet caregiver! She is a former board member of Greyhound Rescue & Adoptions of Tampa (I’m the president) and a foster parent for us as well. I would not hesitate to leave my dogs with her. I only wish she still lived in Florida and could foster for us!
I have known Jordena for approximately 10 years. We first met through a greyhound rescue and adoption group in which we were both volunteers. I liked her right away and found that we were very similar in our approach to caring for our own dogs. She is one of the few people I know that I would actually trust to care for my dogs in my absence. She isn't just a "dog owner"... she is a "dog person"... and there's a big difference. She takes great care of her own dogs and provides them with the perfect balance of love, play, exercise, walks, socialization and mental stimulation. She also provides them with the best food there is for their needs and the best vet care available, throughout their lives. But what I love the most is that she is always ready to learn about new and alternative ways of keeping them at their best, and she makes intelligent, thoughtful decisions about every aspect of their care. I highly recommend Jordena as a pet-sitter! Your dog will be in great hands!

Our yard is securely fenced, there are baby gates at all exits as extra security to prevent door dashing, there is plenty of space for your crates should your fur baby need a private space for down time. No guest is ever left unattended in our yard. At night, they wear lighted collars for visibility.

Information Jordena B. would like to know about your pet
My preference is to sit for Greyhounds only. I will consider other sighthounds (such as Galgos, Salukis, Whippets), as long as they get along with my female Greyhound.
A typical day
If you'd like your dog walked, our neighborhood is quiet and nice to walk. I ask that you provide a secure harness, rather than just a collar, for walking. When the weather allows, we will spend supervised playtime outdoors.

I'm a stay at home Greyhound mom and have plenty of time to host other Greyhounds and sighthounds. Having a house full of hounds makes this mother of Greyhounds happy.
